IRB Manager Transition

Dear SPH Researchers,
 
I’m writing inform you of CUNY’s upcoming transition to IRB Manager. IRB Manager is a commercial online protocol management tool that will replace IDEATE as the submission vehicle for all CUNY Human Subjects Research (HSR) protocols.
 
CUNY Central has been planning to implement IRB Manager for several months and recently provided campus HRPP offices with details about the transition. Please review the attached memo for important information about the transition and take note of the following dates so you can plan your IRB submissions accordingly:

• August 27, 2021 – The last day for new initial submissions of minimal risk protocols in IDEATE.
• September 2, 2021 – The last day to submit Continuing Reviews, Amendments and Final Reports in IDEATE.
• September 2, 2021 – The last day to submit protocols for convened board review at the 9/23/2021 IRB meeting.
• September 3, 2021 – IRB Manager goes live.

As CUNY Central HRPP prepares to implement IRB Manager, new training materials are being developed, which will be available via an online video format closer to rollout. Additional training for researchers will commence the week of August 9 (registration will open on August 2). Please visit the CUNY HRPP website for further information. Our SPH HRPP office will also be providing updates as additional information becomes available to facilitate a smooth transition.
