CUNY SPH IT Computer Systems Administrator Atif Baig was honored with the CUNY IT Award for Excellence in Service in recognition of his outstanding work ethic and commitment to the CUNY SPH IT infrastructure. Baig was presented the award by Vice Chancellor & University Chief Information Officer Brian Cohen at the CUNY IT conference at John Jay on December 5.

“Atif has been the Systems Admin here at CUNY SPH for about two years now and it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that the technology infrastructure of the School is resting squarely and securely on his shoulders,” says Mohit Arora, CUNY SPH Director of Technology. “From routers, switches, and firewalls, to virtual machines, storage arrays and uninterruptible power supplies, Atif single-handedly and tirelessly manages every component of our data center. He is the reason our servers are running flawlessly, our internet connections are always up, and all our work is kept secure. His great attitude, outstanding work ethic, and exceptional dependability make him a worthy recipient of this year’s Excellence in IT Service award for SPH.”
