CUNY SPH is proud to announce the launch of a new accelerated Master of Public Health (MPH) program, offering students the opportunity to earn a graduate degree from a top-ranked school of public health in just one year. Designed for ambitious professionals and recent graduates ready to fast-track their public health careers, the program combines academic rigor with flexibility and real-world application.
The one-year MPH program delivers the same comprehensive curriculum and mentorship as CUNY SPH’s traditional two-year degree but in an intensive, full-time format. Students will engage in advanced coursework across key public health disciplines while benefiting from the school’s deep community partnerships and experiential learning opportunities throughout New York City.
“This accelerated degree program is a bold step toward making high-quality public health education more accessible to motivated students who want to make an impact quickly,” says Dean Ayman El-Mohandes. “It reflects both our academic excellence and commitment to preparing leaders who can respond to today’s rapidly evolving public health challenges.”
Graduates of the program will enter the workforce equipped with the analytical, leadership, and practical skills necessary to drive evidence-based solutions in health departments, hospitals, nonprofit organizations, and global health agencies.
The one-year MPH program kicks off in the summer and lasts through the fall and spring semesters. Applications are now open for summer 2026. Learn more and apply at https://sph.cuny.edu/academics/degrees-and-programs/one-year-mph/.
