In the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings published Tuesday, CUNY SPH stands at #18 out of 224 ranked schools and programs of public health in the United States, featuring among the top 8%.
For the sixth consecutive year, we remain the top public school of public health in the tristate (NY-NJ-CT) area, reflecting our dynamic leadership in education and research in one of the nation’s most populous and diverse regions.
For the first time, four CUNY SPH programs were ranked, with three appearing among the top 20: the Health Policy & Management Program at #15, the Community Health & Social Sciences program at #18, and the Biostatistics program at #19. Our Epidemiology program ranks at #21.
In a mere decade since its inception, CUNY SPH has become one of the top public health schools in the country—an extraordinary achievement that speaks to the talent and drive of our faculty, our pioneering research, and our community-driven mission.
“Our continued position in these rankings is a testament to our track record as a powerhouse of public health research and instruction,” says Dean Ayman El-Mohandes. “As we continue to expand our programs, deepen our community partnerships, and tackle pressing public health challenges, we are poised to rise even further.”
The U.S. News & World Report rankings are based on votes cast by the academic leaders of all public health schools and programs around the country. Respondents rate the academic quality of the programs on a scale of 1 (marginal) to 5 (outstanding).
