Caroline Dos Santos Soares

CUNY SPH is excited to welcome Caroline Dos Santos Soares to the Office of Experiential Learning and Career Services.

A passionate science and health communicator inspired by her personal experiences growing up in the Amazon region in Brazil, Caroline is dedicated to making complex scientific and health information accessible to diverse audiences. Witnessing first-hand the challenges of limited healthcare access in underserved communities shaped her commitment to using communication as a tool to bridge public health gaps.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in communication/journalism, along with certificate degrees in science journalism and the public communication of science. Over the past 15 years, she has worked in science and health communication, with a focus on public health campaigns and clinical research communication. Her work has included creating accessible messaging and outreach strategies for initiatives addressing infectious diseases, particularly tropical diseases, and tackling health inequities.

Now in her first semester of the MS in health communication for social change program at CUNY SPH, she is building on her experience to adapt and apply health communication strategies within the U.S. public healthcare landscape.

Outside of work and studies, Caroline enjoys discovering new spots in New York City with her partner and taking her dog on long walks.

Please join us in welcoming Caroline, who can be reached at Caroline.DosSantosSoares@sph.cuny.edu.
