CUNY SPH is pleased to welcome Cara Flynn to our staff as a development manager.
Cara has been a development professional since 2013, serving in roles at a youth career development organization and a Gramercy area, K-8 school for children diagnosed on the autism spectrum. Most recently, she served as an independent fundraising consultant to support organizations in fundraising strategies and grant writing. As a consultant, Cara supported non-profit clients in Chicago, New York City, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C. with focus areas including addiction, education, the arts, veterans affairs, and youth development.
Prior to joining CUNY SPH earlier this month, Cara served as a fundraising consultant to the CUNY SPH Foundation since March 2021. In this capacity she offered key services including board candidate identification and research, and sourcing new funding opportunities from foundations, corporations and individuals for scholarship/fellowship, the Career Skills Academy, the Harlem Health Initiative and more.
Cara earned her BA in sociology from Fordham University and completed graduate level fundraising coursework at New York University. She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals-NYC Chapter and the Fordham University Young Alumni President’s Club.
