Ellen Brazier

On September 10, Ellen Brazier, a student in the Epidemiology track, defended her dissertation, “Factors Associated with Racial and Ethnic Disparities in Cesarean Delivery among Women with Low-Risk Pregnancies in New York City, 2012-2017.”  Her dissertation committee was chaired by Dr. Denis Nash, with Dr. Luisa N. Borrell, Epidemiology and Biostatistics; Dr. Mary Huynh, NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene; and Dr. Elizabeth A Kelly, University of Cincinnati serving as committee members.

“I am very grateful to have been part of the doctoral program at the CUNY SPH,” Brazier says.  “I have truly valued the training and support I received from the Epi department, and I want to express my appreciation to my committee members for their guidance and mentorship throughout my dissertation work. I am looking forward to building on my dissertation project while I continue to develop my knowledge and skills in causal inference methods.”

Brazier currently works on HIV research at the Institute for Implementation Science in Population Health at CUNY SPH
