The Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health (ASPPH) announced Wednesday that CUNY SPH Dean Ayman El-Mohandes is the new Chair-elect of the ASPPH Board. His term will commence in March of 2021.
The ASPPH is the voice of accredited academic public health, representing schools and programs accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH).
“I am honored to have been elected by my peers the deans and program directors of accredited schools and programs of public health. But in truth, this honor belongs to the faculty, staff, and students who have worked so hard to make us an outstanding school of public health on a national scale,” says Dean El-Mohandes. “My pledge to the CUNY SPH community is that as Board Chair of ASPPH, I will promote the values we hold dear: dedication to rigorous science and scholarship, always in the service of health equity and social justice.”
