Keynote Speaker

Dr. Andrea Low
Assistant Professor, Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health

Through PEPFAR, the US has supported the treatment of over 20 million people living with HIV globally. In order to understand the impact of this far-reaching program, the Population-based HIV Impact Assessments (PHIAs), nationally representative household-based surveys, were designed to measure incidence of HIV and viral load suppression in 14 PEPFAR-supported countries in sub-Saharan Africa. Dr. Low, the Clinical and Scientific Director on the PHIA project, will present some of the results from these surveys, and how they can be used for epidemic control.
