CUNY SPH student only town hall on invisible disabilities

Wednesday, April 26, 2023
5:00 pm – 6:00 pm

Please join the CUNY SPH Office of Accessibility Services in celebrating our third annual CUNY Disability Awareness Month at SPH. Disabled people are the largest marginalized and underrepresented community. CUNY-wide, students with invisible disabilities, sometimes called hidden disabilities, are provided with more accommodations than any other category of disabilities or disabling medical conditions.

In this student only session, we will aim to cultivate a braver and more inclusive CUNY SPH through an open discussion about disability and what it means to live and work with an invisible disability. This town hall serves to not only be a place to talk about concerns and past experiences, but a way to create a forum for talking about invisible disabilities, inclusion, and to further the conversation through next steps.

Automatic live transcription will be provided. The organizers encourage participants to take breaks during the event when needed. To request additional accommodations, contact sara.ingram@sph.cuny.edu.
