Dr. Michele Kiely is Associate Dean for Research Emerita.
A distinguished researcher in the field of health disparities, she has focused her career on reducing infant mortality and intimate partner violence. Her work spans a broad range of pediatric and obstetric health issues, including childhood disabilities, maternal and child health care access and utilization, and randomized controlled trials aimed at improving pregnancy outcomes among high-risk minority women. Dr. Kiely’s extensive career includes leadership roles at several prominent institutions, such as the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development at the National Institutes of Health, the Office of the United States Surgeon General, the Maternal and Child Health Bureau within the Health Resources and Services Administration, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, and the State of New York.
