Dr. Moaz Abdelwadoud is a public health researcher, educator, and physician with over fifteen years of experience spanning clinical medicine, health systems research, and global public health practice across the Middle East, Sub-Saharan Africa, Europe, and the United States.He currently serves as Research Scientist and Senior Director of Training at the Center for Systems & Community Design where he leads training initiatives and contributes to research advancing community-engaged and systems-based approaches to improving population health.
He also serves as a Public Health Impact Mentor at Firefly Innovations, CUNY’s public health entrepreneurship platform and digital health startup accelerator, where he guides early-stage digital health companies on strategy, growth, health system integration, and public health impact.As an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Policy and Management, Dr. Abdelwadoud teaches graduate courses in public health policy analysis, organizational management, comparative urban healthcare systems, and applied practice supervision. He works with school administration to promote the accelerated master’s degree program in partnership with CUNY colleges and international institutions and supports the Dean’s office in the development of new public health educational programs.Prior to joining CUNY, Dr. Abdelwadoud was a Visiting Assistant Professor of Global Health at the NYU School of Global Public Health, and completed postdoctoral training at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy, where he contributed to multiple patient-centered outcomes research initiatives funded by AHRQ. His research collaborations have spanned the National Institutes of Health, U.S. Food and Drug Administration, U.S. Department of Defense, Veterans Health Administration, and the World Food Programme.
