In June, CUNY SPH Dean Ayman El-Mohandes traveled to Bangladesh to attend the Global Conference on Implementation Science and Scale-Up, co-hosted by the Centre of Excellence for Science of Implementation and Scale-up, the BRAC James P. Grant School of Public Health, and UNICEF Bangladesh.

Dean El-Mohandes spoke during the opening plenary session, commenting on the importance of developing the capacity of implementation research and how universities can play a leadership role.
During his visit, the dean visited one of the BRAC Centers of Maternal and Infant care in a slum of Dhaka.

“I was overjoyed to meet the community workers and professional team, and delighted to speak to the expectant mothers directly,” said Dean El-Mohandes. “This was an enlightening and inspirational trip and conference.”
Marie Donaldson, deputy director of the Center for Immigrant, Refugee, and Global Health (CIRGH) and a doctoral student at CUNY SPH, also participated in deliberations at the conference.”
