Drs. Emma Tsui and Spring Cooper will present with some of the student team that has been working on the Public Health Education Now (PHEN) Oral History Project. This project asks students, faculty and staff at CUNY SPH how our lived experiences since 2020 have shaped our vision of what we want public education to be. We’ll discuss the oral history interviews that the team conducted, focusing on experiences of not only the COVID-19 pandemic, but also the increased visibility of racism and other oppressions, and movements for racial justice that are reverberating both in and out of the classroom. We have several activities planned to personalize the data and think together about ways forward, both in the classroom and school and in teaching public health more broadly. Come participate in this lively interactive session on zoom (https://zoom.us/my/drspringc), Thursday Nov 17, 12-130pm. Feel free to bring your lunch!
