Hunger and food insecurity affect millions of New Yorkers every day. In fact, more than 4.6 million NYC residents—56% of the population—live in or near poverty, and 1.2 million people in our city are currently struggling with hunger. A coalition of leading hunger and food insecurity organizations is hosting a VIRTUAL candidate forum to hear directly from the individuals running for NYC Mayor this year on this topic.
Why you should attend: Whether you’re a community advocate, nonprofit leader, concerned resident, or simply someone who wants to learn more, this is your opportunity to learn about their plans to address hunger and improve food policies to better support our communities citywide. Join us via Zoom for an engaging and informative discussion, moderated by Journalist and Spectrum New York 1 Political Anchor Errol Louis, that will provide insight into the candidates’ proposed solutions for these critical challenges.
The forum will take place virtually. Register here for the Zoom link.
