Welcome, Librarian-Instructor Rosemary Farrell!

We are delighted to welcome Rosemary Farrell to CUNY SPH as Librarian-Instructor.

Rosemary earned a BA at Rutgers University, an MA at the City College of New York and a Master of Library Science (MLS) degree from Long Island University. She holds Public Librarian Certification in New York State and has over 15 years’ experience in public, academic and special libraries. As a public librarian in New York City and the Lower Hudson Valley, she specialized in programming, outreach and community engagement. She has presented at local and regional library conferences on various topics including Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), community-wide event planning and censorship.

As a City College master’s candidate in English literature with a concentration in creative writing, Rosemary served as managing editor of Fiction, an award-winning literary journal. She writes fiction, essays and book reviews and has work in online and print publications. She is a former Board member of River River Writers Circle. Prior to this position, she worked for the New York Public Library, Nyack Library, Mamaroneck Public Library and Rockland Community College.

Rosemary looks forward to working with students and faculty on class preparation/presentations and research and center and institute members on research.

She can be reached at Library@sph.cuny.edu and will be available in person Tuesday through Thursday from 4:00-8:00 in the Study Lounge Room 704.
