Congratulations, Dr. Chloe Mirzayi!

Dr. Chloe Mirzayi

On May 11, Chloe Mirzayi, a student in the epidemiology and biostatistics track, successfully defended her dissertation, “Improving Microbiome Research Through Enhanced Reporting and Modeling the Effects of Antibiotic Usage.” Her dissertation committee was chaired by Professor Levi Waldron.

“CUNY SPH provided me with an excellent doctoral education with some truly amazing faculty,” says Dr. Mirzayi. “In particular, I found the epidemiology and biostatistics courses to be challenging, engaging and filled to the brim with interesting material. I am grateful for the mentorship I received from Dr. Waldron. He was so flexible, responding to my late-night messages and shifting his schedule around so he could meet with me. I was also lucky to have an amazing committee who provided guidance, advice and motivation every step of the way. I am also incredibly thankful to have received the Dean’s Dissertation Award to support my dissertation research. The school and its faculty supported me every step of the way.”

Dr. Mirzayi will continue with her resrarch, working across several projects at the CUNY Institute for Implementation Science in Population Health as a Data Scientist. She hopes to begin teaching biostatistics and R courses in the fall.
