POSITION: Research Assistant (Part-Time)
ORGANIZATION: CUNY Health Equity and Access to Care Project (HEAC)
The Project The Health Equity and Access to Care (HEAC) project focuses on individuals’ experiences with healthcare in New York City (NYC). It is a multi‐year collaboration with the Bureau of Equitable Health Systems at the NYC. Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. The project comprises focus groups and interviews with a diverse sample of NYC residents.
The Position: We are looking to hire several part-time research assistants (RAs) who will be responsible for assisting to recruit project participants and will work closely with the HEAC Project Coordinator and other team members. The RAs will engage with New Yorkers and organizations in neighborhoods throughout the five boroughs to invite them to participate in focus groups and post project flyers. This outreach will consist of, but not be limited to: flyer distribution, event attendance and tabling, community presentation, attendance at community events, and other activities as required by the project.
This position requires frequent travel to a variety of locations and event throughout NYC. Applicants must be comfortable traveling throughout the city and have the flexibility to attend occasional events on weekends and evenings.

The successful applicant will have a combination of the following:

Time Commitment and Compensation
Depending on the number of RAs hired, the positions may range between 10 and 19 hours/week, with an hourly rate between $22-25 depending on experience. Work will involve travel to different NYC locations for outreach and recruitment
events, as well as on-site work at the CUNY SPH campus. The position is available to be filled immediately.

POSITION: Director of Programs

Organizational Overview: Founded in 2000, the New York City Alliance Against Sexual Assault’s mission is to prevent sexual violence and reduce the harm it causes through education, research, and advocacy. The Alliance’s team of ten staff members work closely with the city’s rape crisis programs and hospitals, college campuses and universities, District Attorney’s offices, the New York Police Department, court officials, and city leaders to develop and implement new practices and policies, raise public awareness, and create sustainable change for survivors. Through training, advocacy, and research, the Alliance has been an active force in fighting for recognition of the magnitude of the problem of sexual violence in New York City (NYC).
Position Overview: The director of programs works closely with the executive director and plays a lead role in the supervision of and support for staff, the development of organizational culture, the development of strategic programmatic vision for the Alliance, and program implementation centered on the needs of survivors and the organizations that serve them.
The ideal candidate will be a passionate thought leader in the areas of sexual violence and/or gender-based violence who will bring to this position demonstrable experience implementing grant-funded programming, developing programming beyond limits set by current funders and reflective of community need, and creating a safe, healthy, and supportive environment for staff that is grounded in a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. The candidate will be responsible for scaling up Alliance programming, including sexual violence prevention efforts across the core programming areas of healthy nightlife, youth leadership, and college campuses, and training and technical assistance programming for medical personnel and NYC hospitals, staff and volunteers of community-based organizations, and those in the criminal and legal systems.
- Compensation for this position is $100,00-$110,000.

POSITION: Senior Director of Programs

The Senior Director of Programs is a remarkable position for an effective and experienced leader in social justice organizations with a focus and commitment to anti-racist, feminist/womanist/queer, and youth development work. The ideal candidate will be a social change advocate with demonstrated experience working directly with youth and/or leading community-based programming, as well as with experience supervising a team of program staff who are leading various parts of an organization’s core work.

POSITION: Direct Support Professionals (DSP)

Position Summary: Provide all aspects of care to program participants to enable them to become independent and productive. Some knowledge of computers is needed.
Essential Accountabilities: Each DSP must be able to perform the following functions in order to ensure the life safety, care and well-being of the people served by WellLife Network.
- Ensures that all activities enhance and support each person’s social responsibility, independence, dignity and continued growth.
- Implements goals designed to maximize each person served with a level of independence, as determined by the IDT, including but not limited to: budgeting, grooming, nutritional planning, use of public transportation, and use of community resources, shopping and housekeeping.
- Must be able to safely operate agency vans and/or vehicles as per the agency driving policy.
- Must successfully complete and perform all techniques required in AMAP, SCIP, CPR and First Aid. Employment is conditional upon passing the exams for each course.
- Coordinates evacuation and ensures safety in actual emergencies and fire drills. Essential functions of this duty include: the ability to climb and descend fire escapes and assist others to do the same. This may include both verbal and physical prompting and the ability to perform first aid for the people served.
- Administers medication and/or monitors self-administration of medication as a certified AMAP. This includes documentation of the computerized EMAR (Electronic Medication Administration Record) system, where applicable. (This may not apply to relief staff).
- Responsible for crisis intervention and incident reporting procedures.
- Responsible for monitoring and recording progress on daily checklists, any behavior contracts, quarterly summaries, monthly goal forms and progress notes, family contact log, monthly and daily recreation reports, clothing and personal effects inventory.
- Required to display proficiency while entering person served data documentation in the electronic data system.
- Communicates relevant information to other staff and supervisor(s), verbally and in writing, (i.e., daily communication log, telephone log, incident reports, medication and behavior incident reports).
- Meets routinely with people served and the management team to review goal progress, identify participant needs and update program plans. Assists person in researching and obtaining community resources appropriate and applicable to their needs and goals.
- Assists person in planning and follow through on or escorts person evening and weekend recreational activities. Participates in moderate physical activities as part of recreation program.
- Assists in planning of daily activities and events.
- Provides training in ADL and other areas, performs these functions for people served requiring total support (diaper changing, ambulation, G-Tube, feeding, transferring from bed to chair using Hoyer lift), specifically staff will perform all aspects of the task i.e., showering, shaving, toileting, hand washing, mouth care.
- Attends all scheduled staff meetings, mandatory in-service training sessions, and assigned annual meetings within the residence and day program.
- Acts as a role model for people served in various settings/situations.
- Follows-up on any aftercare/recommendations for treatment. Escorts/accompanies people served as needed on appointments (medical, psychiatric, etc.).
- Maintains confidentiality at all times.
- Work schedules and locations are subject to change based upon person served and/or program need.
- Other duties as requested.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalency diploma required. A valid New York State Driver’s License with 2 years of driving experience is required, must be comfortable operating a large vehicle. Experience working with adults with intellectual/developmental or other behavioral health disabilities preferred.
