Jennifer Keane appointed Assistant Dean for Administration and Strategic Initiatives

We are pleased to welcome Jennifer Keane to CUNY SPH as the new Assistant Dean for Administration and Strategic Initiatives. Jennifer will be working with the school’s operational units to improve administrative services and customer experience for the CUNY SPH Community, as well as on school wide initiatives such as the Strategic Framework and Pandemic Response Institute (PRI).

Jennifer has extensive experience in health care and higher education administration. Before coming to CUNY SPH, Jennifer was Practice Director of the Neurosciences Institute for Children’s Hospital Colorado, one of the top 10 pediatric hospitals in the country. She oversaw the strategic, financial and operational aspects for Neurosciences, one of Children’s largest divisions in a four-hospital healthcare system. Previously, she was Assistant Dean for Operations and Finance at the University of Denver’s Josef Korbel School of International Studies, with over 950 undergraduate and graduate students. In this role, she managed the school’s $30 million budget and oversaw a building renovation, adding 46,000 square feet to create a state-of-the-art complex for students, faculty and the community. She also led the integration of the university’s Public Policy Institute and MPP degree program with the Korbel School.

Jennifer has held leadership roles at NYU Langone Health and NYU Office of Development and Alumni Relations, and as a consultant for the Council on Health Research for Development. She has taught graduate level classes on nonprofit financial management and philanthropy at University of Denver and NYU. 

Jennifer has an MPA in nonprofit management and policy from NYU Wagner Graduate School of Public Service and a BA from Williams College, majoring in Psychology and History.
