POSITION: Fellowship Coordinator Title 42 (term FTE) GS-11/12 equivalent Position 

ORGANIZATION: CDC Evaluation Fellowship Program

The CDC Evaluation Fellowship Program offers a unique service-learning experience with substantive yet flexible professional development opportunities for master’s and doctoral level Evaluation Fellows. Fellows are placed in CDC programs where they learn on the job while helping their program build, expand, and/or improve their evaluation activities.

We are seeking a Fellowship Coordinator to fill a Title 42 (term FTE) GS-11/12 Health Scientist equivalent position. The position will be responsible for coordinating the CDC Evaluation Fellowship Program managed out of our office, Program Performance & Evaluation Office (PPEO) within the Office of Associate Director for Policy and Strategy (OADPS). PPEO drives continuous program improvement for CDC programs by helping CIOs plan, implement, measure, monitor, and evaluate initiatives to achieve the greatest possible health impact. This is done in a variety of ways including consultations, facilitations, training and skill building, capacity building, publishing resources and tools, sharing best practices, offering technical assistance, and connecting them with additional expertise and support in other CIOs and in the Office of the Director.

About the Position: This position will be responsible for planning and implementing the CDC Evaluation Fellowship Program in conjunction with PPEO evaluation staff. Responsibilities include building relationships, collaborating with key partners, facilitating the activities that support Fellows’ development, recruiting and matching selected Fellows and host programs, supporting Fellows, and evaluating the program activities.

Job Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Design, develop, and implement innovative and effective strategies (e.g., use of effective design principles and adult learning theory) to educate, train, and provide reflective opportunities for Fellows and trainees new to the field of evaluation in public health.
  • Plan and coordinate Fellowship meetings, information sharing, trainings, resource development, and professional and career development opportunities
  • Facilitate and provide one-on-one and group opportunities (coaching, mentoring, facilitated discussions, check ins) that support Fellows learning and development

NYS Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) is looking to fill a Research Scientist 5 position in the Bureau of Research and Program Evaluation.   • Behavioral Health Manager: SIPCW seeks a Behavioral Health (BH) Manager to support TYSA’s general day-to-day activities and organization of the coalition. This position will co-lead the coalition with another BH manager in developing and implementing strategies that will lead to long-term involvement of community institutions, organizations, and individuals in preventing and reducing substance use and promoting mental health. This position will also support additional behavioral health projects and initiatives as needed.   • Behavioral Health Coordinator:  SIPCW seeks a Behavioral Health Coordinator to support the TYSA initiative to support the general day to day activities and organization of the coalition. The Institute for Family Health (IFH) in NYC has a grant-funded project through June 2023 designed to increase reproductive health care provision, including infertility care, early pregnancy loss management and abortion care access, full scope contraception, cervical cancer screening and trauma informed GYN care at primary care sites across New York City. In this grant we will work to improve the above services within the Institute’s health center network.

Position Overview: PHS is looking to hire a Community Resource Network (CRN) Specialist position to join a growing team of CRN Specialists.  The CRN Specialist will be responsible for meaningfully connecting vulnerable New Yorkers to clinical and community support services across New York City using an online referral technology platform and tracking the process through various technological tools. The CRN Specialist will be responsible for connecting with clients over the phone, identifying needs and encouraging clients to utilize appropriate resources, primarily food and nutrition resources at the start. With the client consent, the CRN Specialist will refer to appropriate organizations and programs and may be required to follow up with individuals at various points to ensure access to effective care and community resources.

The CRN Specialist will work under the supervision of the Community Resource Network Project Manager in the Healthcare-Community Partnerships and work closely with other members of the Healthcare Community Partnerships team, with interaction with other teams within PHS’ Neighborhood Health Division as needed.

Qualifications:

  • B.A. or B.S. degree with coursework in community health or related field, preferred

The Division of Bacterial Diseases is seeking a candidate with a Doctoral-level degree in epidemiology, demography, or related field who has expertise in social epidemiology and/or social determinants of health and strong social justice and health equity interests. 

Health Equity Scientist: The Centers for Disease’s CORE (Cultivate, Optimize, Reinforce, Enhance) Health equity science and intervention strategy (2022) aims to transform the agency’s public health research, surveillance, and implementation science efforts to shift from simply listing the markers of health inequities to identifying and addressing the drivers of these disparities. As part of CDC’s agency-wide CORE Health equity science and intervention strategy (2022), the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, Division of Bacterial Diseases plans to conduct health equity analyses for key division pathogens.

The incumbent:

  • Designs, conducts, and reports results of analyses assessing underlying drivers of health disparities for DBD pathogens.

As a community-based medical school, one goal of the College of Human Medicine is to conduct collaborative, multidisciplinary and multi-community research that takes advantage of our unique distributed campus system. Our focus is on both clinical research that can be practically applied, as well as the critical research in the basic science departments affiliated with the college on mechanisms underlying human diseases and their integration. Key responsibilities include:

  • Serve as coordinating liaison to Global Ambassador and Cardiovascular Health Program Partners to ensure consistent reporting and communications, both within the Foundation and with external partners.
  • Provide critical reviews of monthly, quarterly, and annual partner reports, coordinating feedback, and synthesizing information for internal reporting; Monitor and follow up with partners on any unexpected report items or deviation from expected deliverables
