On Monday, May 9, Subraham Singh, a student on the Environmental and Occupational Health track, successfully defended his dissertation, “Assessment of Spatial and Temporal Trends of Exposure to Ambient Fine Particulate Matter and Ozone in New York/New Jersey Metropolitan Area.” His committee was chaired by Dr. Ilias Kavouras with Drs. Glen Johnson and David W DuBois as members.

“I am fortunate for my experience and the training I received here at CUNY SPH,” says Dr. Singh. “The school fostered an inclusive multi-dimensional learning environment that helped to cultivate my intellectual curiosity and hunger for learning. It inspired me to dive deeper into examining complex public health problems and thereby contributing to the production of knowledge through peer-reviewed publications. My dissertation research on air pollution exposure provided the avenue for me to work and interact with faculty at the top of their field, who diligently guided my research from start to finish. I am truly grateful to the EOGHS Department and CUNY SPH for the learning environment they created that allowed me to evolve as public health professional to further pursue important work in this field.”
