As we celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. today, his timeless wisdom transcends eras and reminds us that vigorous and positive action remains imperative to not only combat the ongoing pandemic, but to address all the challenges and inequities across our society that it has brought to light.
Our dedication to health equity through social justice is as urgent as ever as the COVID-19 pandemic sweeps across our globe in waves, affecting those most vulnerable among us in disproportionate measure. Communities that are traditionally underserved and communities with low reserves are those that will suffer first and suffer the most during periods of crisis. We are in such a period and need to be mindful of the consequences.
As we commemorate Dr. King, let us rededicate ourselves to the work of uncovering and overcoming inequality, for the betterment of all.
