Last week, CUNY SPH Foundation Board Secretary Margaret Crotty was appointed president and CEO of John Snow, Inc (JSI) and World Education Boards of Directors.

JSI is a public health management consulting and research organization dedicated to improving the health of individuals and communities throughout the world. Their mission is to improve the health of underserved people and communities and to provide a place where people of passion and commitment can pursue this cause.

Margaret, who has a record of leadership and innovation in both the nonprofit and private sectors in the areas of education and public health, comes to JSI from her position as CEO of the Partnership with Children, a New York City-based provider of community health services and community school management. She graduated with honors from Princeton University in History and African American Studies. She holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Master’s in Public Health from the Mailman School at Columbia University.

“In Margaret we found a terrific person with knowledge of both the international and U.S. social development and health sectors and a vision that will help take JSI and World Education into the future, while nurturing the culture that we are renowned for,” said JSI outgoing president and CEO Joel H. Lamstein. “I know I am leaving the organization in excellent hands.”
