POSITION TITLE: Various
ORGANIZATION: Alliance for Fair Food
Are you interested in working for farmworker justice and systemic change in our food system? Are you looking to dive deep into the strategizing and community-building behind one of the most successful grassroots student/worker solidarity movements of our time? We’re hiring full-time staff to join the ally team in Immokalee!
For over 25 years, Florida’s farmworkers have been fighting to end generations of rampant violence and grinding poverty. Their struggle is rooted in a long-term vision to transform the agricultural industry into fertile ground for farmworkers’ human rights to thrive.
After years of tireless grassroots organizing and the cultivated commitment and solidarity of allies across the country, farmworkers’ dream of dignity and respect in the fields has turned into reality through the Fair Food Program. Today, the Program offers the only set of legally-binding and enforceable COVID-19 safety protocols for essential farmworkers in the U.S. As the dangerous conditions posed by the pandemic continue to threaten farmworkers and their families, it has become more urgent than ever before to strengthen and expand these unprecedented protections to tens of thousands more workers, in more states and new industries, by securing agreements with Fair Food holdouts like Wendy’s.
We’re looking for new staff to work as part of the extraordinary team of farmworkers and allies leading the national Wendy’s Boycott!
The ally team in Immokalee is seeking:
- Student/Farmworker Alliance National Co-coordinator to facilitate and embolden student/youth involvement in the Campaign for Fair Food
- National Faith Organizer to help us grow and strengthen our network of faith-based communities in the fight for farmworker justice
- Development Coordinator to increase organizational fundraising efforts and steward donor relationships
