POSITION TITLE: Research Analyst III

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health has an immediate need for a Research Analyst III (RA III) position for the CDC’s COVID-19 Health Disparities Grant.
The RA III will plan, conduct, interpret and evaluate COVID-19 research and evaluation projects involving complex experimental designs. The RA III will report directly to the Chief Research Analyst, an equivalent or higher for oversight and direction.
The duties of the RA III include, but are not limited to:
- Plans, designs, conducts, and evaluates COVID-19 projects involving complex experimental designs such as univariate and multivariate analysis of variance, standard and inverse factor analysis, and discriminant function.
- Devises data processing procedures that make use of high-speed computers and works with computer personnel in the programming and processing of data.
- Prepares reports and recommendations based on data analysis findings.
- Complies with all required Public Health trainings; and
- Accepts responsibility for other duties, as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A Master’s degree from an accredited university with specialization in the field of the behavioral or social sciences -AND- one course in Statistics, Biostatistics or Epidemiology -AND- three (3) years post-master research experience including responsibility for the design, evaluation, and implementation of research projects in a behavioral or social science field.

POSITION TITLE: Program Assistant

Mount Sinai’s Institute for Advanced Medicine (IAM) is seeking a Program Assistant to provide administrative, operational and programmatic supportive services to the PEP Center of Excellence Program, which runs the NYC PEP Hotline. The PEP Hotline is a grant-funded program through the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (NYCDOHMH), which provides linkage to immediate care during clinic business hours, and access to HIV Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) starter packs of medication outside of clinic business hours. The goals of PEP Hotline include reducing HIV transmission by increasing emergency access to medication and care, reducing costs by providing starter packs free of charge, eliminating emergency room visits, and seamlessly linking clients to PEP follow-up and care, including grant-funded sexual health programs and benefits assistance for uninsured and underinsured.
The Program Assistant will work under the supervision of the Program Coordinator, collaborating with IAM Prevention team and clinical staff across IAM’s 5 sites and with other community providers, ensuring appropriate linkage, navigation, service provision, follow-up, documentation and reporting to funders. The Program Assistant may also spend time liaising with other Mount Sinai Health System departments and external agencies, discussing PEP access and integration, and status neutral navigation, education and linkage. They will be integral to promoting the PEP Hotline’s branding and presence on social media and in the development and implementation of ad campaigns.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Maintains liaison with staff in internal and external clinical areas and departments to coordinate program activities; to accomplish program objectives; and to ensure cooperative efforts are enhanced and available resources are utilized.
- Plays a central role in data collection, tracking, entry and reporting of program deliverables.
- Assists in monitoring and evaluating program effectiveness; demonstrates continuous efforts to improve support operations and systems, to streamline work processes and to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the program.
- Provides assistance to staff in assigned areas to ensure program objectives are accomplished seamlessly.
- Assists in administering program procedures and systems. May ensure information is disseminated to staff regarding program and Mount Sinai Health System’s policies and procedures.
- Assists in planning, coordination and outreach efforts to grow the program in new directions and reach new populations, in person and via social media. Recommends new ideas and concepts for program themes, materials and resources to supplement or expand existing program components.
- Provides counseling, education and triage to potential patients exposed to HIV via call center model. Navigate patients to appropriate clinical care based on assessment.
- May provide HIV and STI testing in clinic and occasional field-based settings.
- Performs other related duties as required or assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in health education/promotion, public health, or community health desired, though relevant work experience and demonstrated skills may be an acceptable substitute in the right candidate.
- 1-2 years of related administrative or program support experience
- HIV/AIDS and biomedical prevention knowledge
