Job Description

The Operations department of SOMOS seeks an Project Manager to lead all phases of the project lifecycle following project management methodology to successfully achieve clinical and business objectives for the delegated functions of its Innovator initiative. The PM will establish schedules, budgets, and coordinate project activities to ensure the success of projects from original concept to final implementation.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Developing and maintaining project documentation, work plans, and project deliverables
  • Initiating and maintaining risk/issues logs, taking responsibility for identifying and coordinating resolution of all technical and business issues
  • Observing and actively participating in scheduled meetings and activities, as directed
  • Conducting research to obtain a better understanding of assigned tasks

Job Description:

As an Analyst, for Clinical Quality you will participate in developing and conducting analysis of quality and compliance data. You will identity, evaluate and report on process area effectiveness and provide continuous process improvement feedback to area management. In addition, you will assist in the development of quality improvement processes within prescribed time-frames.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Obtains data and prepares reports with a summary of the findings represented in the data.
  • Plans, organizes, and conducts reviews for assigned functions/areas.
  • Assists in designing solutions for Clinical Quality management issues identified.  Obtains and shares metrics to measure the on-going activities within assigned process area.

Job Description

The Director of Quality under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer, Clinical Quality Management, plans, organizes, implements, and directs and coordinates activities related to quality. The Director is responsible for providing oversight, direction, and strategic planning for the operations of provider incentive programs supported by SOMOS. Develop innovative strategies and tactics for engaging the network and delivery system to ensure top quality of care is delivered to our patients. Director of Quality will work closely with the clinical quality team, clinical quality data and analytics team, networking and SOMOS leadership to ensure that all quality incentive deliverables are achieved timely and accurately.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategies to conduct a review of industry wide changes for engaging providers that ensure that SOMOS quality program is aligned with CMS, NCQA, NYS Medicaid, Medicare Stars and other health plans’ data driven approach.
  • Oversee the day to day operations needed to ensure the timely and accurate reporting of care gaps management for the SOMOS providers.

Job Description 

The Financial Analyst should have at least three years of professional financial experience in a health care environment, ideally in the managed care industry. They will be primarily responsible for carrying out reporting and reconciliation functions consistent with the organization’s financial reporting policies. This individual will contribute to the monthly closing process, reconciliation MCO agreements, accruals of administrative liabilities, and the preparation of certified financial statements. A CPA designation would be advantageous but is not required.

The Financial Analyst will work closely with the Controller, Revenue Manager, Claims Manager, and other team members. Their primary objectives include:

  • Contributing to the monthly closing process, concluding with the issuance of income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reporting for SOMOS Innovations and its subsidiaries.
  • Contributing to the successful completion of certified financial statements by external auditors, as well as certain federal and state regulatory/tax-related filings.
  • Analysis of components of the financial statements to identify emerging trends. Recommends adjustments to the chart of accounts, product and MCO contract reporting structure, and internal administrative departments.
  • Reconciles interfaces to the general ledger from third party administrators, MCOs, state regulators, as well as internal sources such as payroll and fringe benefits from H/R systems. Reviews interim summary tables which facilitate internal and regulatory reporting.
  • Prepares adjustments to financial statements, including revenue, medical and administrative expenses as appropriate.
  • Reviews and adjusts the administrative cost attribution models to the product and MCO contract level.
  • Participates in the Identification and implementation of opportunities to expand Innovator functions to provide support to other IPAs.

Competencies and Qualifications

  • Three years of experience performing financial analysis, or a combination of education an experience producing a similar skill set.
  • CPA advantageous, but not required.
  • Familiarity with government programs financial reporting a strong plus.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships with operational and programmatic stakeholders within the organization.
  • Outstanding oral and written presentation skills.

Job Description 

Scope of Role:

The Network Management team at SOMOS Innovation, is responsible for partnering with select healthcare providers to enhance the quality of care provided to people throughout our communities. The Manager, Network Operations and Payer Relations will report to the Director, Provider Network and will play an integral role in the organization’s success by partnering with providers throughout our communities to develop and maintain high-performing provider networks.

Role Responsibilities:

The Manager, Network Operations and Payer Relations will serve as a thought leader across the organization and be responsible for the following key items:

  • Responsible for serving as a key point of contact and liaison between Managed Care Organization and Third-Party Administrator partners and SOMOS MSO to resolve all issues and ensure positive partnerships.
  • Understand provider and member priorities and how they translate into internal and cross-partnership operational goals, to allow providers to deliver high-quality care by minimizing operational complexity.
  • Oversee cross-partnership processes, including but not limited to: provider rosters, member rosters and attribution, claims and capitation payments, referrals and authorization requests.
  • Build and refine policies and procedures to operationalize cross-partnership processes and ensure they are successfully and consistently executed.
  •  Provide network oversight of information flow between MCOs, SOMOS MSO, and TPA.
  • Work cross-functionally across the organization to enhance the Network Management infrastructure pertaining to provider operations, reporting, and vendor outreach and education.
  • Support implementing and advancing value-based reimbursement arrangements that will transform the way healthcare is delivered and financed throughout our communities.

Competencies and Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS/BA in business administration, finance or health care. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience, with at least 3 years experience in network operations, network management, consulting or another network related role.
  • Strong understanding of health plan operations and a proven track record in resolving operational issues.

Job Description

The Network Management team at SOMOS Innovation, LLC, is responsible for partnering with healthcare providers to develop, maintain and optimize SOMOS’ provider network throughout the communities we serve. The Manager, Practice Transformation will report to the Director, Network Performance and will play an integral role in the organization’s performance by partnering with providers throughout the region to drive performance through advanced value-based arrangements.

Role Responsibilities:

The Manager, Network Development & Management will serve as a thought leader across the organization and be responsible for the following key items:

  • Effectively outreach and contract with providers to enhance network quality and increase access points across our communities.
  • Guide development of geographically competitive, accessible, stable networks that achieve unit cost and trend targets.
  • Responsible for implementing and advancing value-based reimbursement arrangements that will transform the way healthcare is delivered and financed throughout our communities.
  • Responsible for ensuring all contracts are negotiated within applicable standards and templates.
  • Responsible for developing and enhancing strategic relationships with key providers across the market.

Project Description: 

In its continued efforts to slow the spread of COVID-19, the Department of Homeless Services (DHS) is making vaccines for COVID-19 available to New York’s most vulnerable population and the staff serving them. It is essential that DHS clients and staff have access to COVID-19 vaccines to curb the spread of COVID-19 in our shelter system.

The aims of this vaccination campaign are to:

  • Inform our population about the safety and benefits of vaccination against COVID-19
  • Protect the clients’ health, as well as the health of those around them
  • Reduce the different degrees of infections and deaths among our clients due to COVID-19
  • Prevent long-term health problems like heart and lung damage, mental health issues, fatigue, muscle pain, etc. due to COVID-19

To implement this initiative rapidly, DHS is seeking three staff to work with the DHS Medical Office and shelter staff: 2 coordinators and one data analyst

COVID-19 Vaccination Coordinator (2)

Tasks

  • Arrange for shelter schedule, manage shelter list, prioritize shelters, contact shelter directors to propose schedule, confirm and finalize the schedule
  • Coordinate communication and collaboration with vaccine providers, homeless shelter leadership and DHS/DSS (Executive Office, Office of the Medical Director, DSS Emergency Response)
  • Plan for and arrange scheduled return for the second vaccine dose
  • Send reminders to shelter directors or Point of Contact and include marketing and awareness materials
  • Manage rapid schedule changes as needed and keep wait-list of staff to be contacted as needed
  • Propose system modifications as needed

  • Quality review of all vaccination data on a daily basis and constant communication with onsite data collection team to ensure data completeness and accuracy
  • Multiple daily communications with Coordinator to ensure schedule for vaccines is at capacity
  • Produce QA reports at the end of each day and less frequently once data are cleaned and staff are trained
  • Produce daily simple counts report and weekly report of vaccines (count and rate) given by client/staff, shelter and other available variables

  • Excellent computer/software use and database management skills (excel, Kintone, Wufoo, Access)

Summary:

A Clinical Research Coordinator is sought for an NCI-funded randomized clinical trial (PI, Dr. Guy Montgomery) investigating the effects of an information-sharing intervention to encourage mammography patients with markers of coronary artery disease to seek cardiovascular care. The trial is scheduled to begin in April 2021. The CRC will provide regulatory, administrative, and other research support to the project, and will be part of a team including research assistants, clinical psychologists, breast radiologists, and cardiologists. Successful candidates will have a high degree of professional maturity, empathy, commitment to excellence, attention to detail, independence, flexibility, and creativity.

Key Responsibilities:

Research:

  • Ensure regulatory requirements are met in accordance with NIH/NCI, GCP (Good Clinical Practice), and HIPAA (Protection of Human Research Subjects) standards, including maintaining all study documents (e.g., regulatory binder)
  • Supervise study research assistants
  • Lead preparation for quarterly DSMB meetings
  • Lead preparation for and conduct monitoring visits by study sponsor organizations
  • Monitor efforts related to human research participant protection and report instances of noncompliance to the appropriate compliance office. Respond to any audit findings and implement approved recommendations
  • Maintain effective and ongoing communication with the project sponsors and the principal investigator
  • Ensure all study activities and personnel comply with current IRB regulatory requirements and procedures; responsible for the timely submission of initial and continued Mount Sinai IRB approval
  • Track project progress through various activities (e.g., organize team meetings, set agenda, take meeting minutes and follow up with team to ensure progress on agenda items)
  • Develop appropriate progress reports for the PI, study funding agency, and the IRB
  • Assist the PI in the preparation of new protocol submissions, protocol amendments, and renewals of ongoing clinical trials
  • Screen subjects for eligibility using specific inclusion and exclusion criteria
  • Recruit participants to the trial, independently obtain informed consent for clinical studies and educate participants regarding study requirements
  • Assist in data collection, medical chart abstraction, entry, analysis, and presentation
  • Attend training sessions
  • Maintain adequate inventory of study supplies
  • Perform other research tasks as needed

Minimum Education:

Bachelor’s degree

Minimum Related Experience:

  • 2-3 years of clinical trials management experience
  • Previous experience with participant recruitment
  • Previous experience supervising staff
  • Basic understanding of regulations governing clinical research (CFR, GCP, HIPAA)
  • Excellent communication, writing, organizational and presentation skills
  • Ability to effectively interact with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, administrative staff.
  • Ability to recognize competing priorities and deadlines and seek guidance in management of these where needed.

Minimum Computer Skills:

Advanced MS Office (Word, Excel), Outlook
