About Stellar Health:

We are a tech and services company whose mission is to empower primary care providers to deliver high-quality and efficient healthcare. Founded in 2018, Stellar has been growing quickly this year after raising a $10M Series A: we’ve doubled our headcount since January and will continue to grow throughout the end of the year.

Our workflow tool is unique in transforming small practices to be successful in Value-Based Care contracts, during a time when insurers are under a lot of pressure to move to this model of payments and better patient outcomes.

Our founding team covers a wide range of experience and skills – having built multiple best-in-class technology products in their careers, with deep healthcare knowledge and experience in starting successful companies from the ground up (more about us at https://stellar.health).

  • Ensuring employee birthdays and milestones are celebrated internally
  • Managing our calendar of events including Lunch & Learns, Socially-Distanced lunches and dinners, and any fun ideas that would bring the team together

  • Super-positive, roll-up-the-sleeves, and can-do attitude. If something needs to get done, you’ll do it and do it with a flourish

POSITION: Project Director, Policy and Impact

ORGANIZATION: HERE to HERE

About HERE to HERE:

HERE to HERE (H2H) enhances paths to rewarding careers for young people by uniting employers, educators, and community-based organizations in The Bronx and across New York City. Our vision is a thriving, inclusive economy, in The Bronx and elsewhere, driven by meaningful partnerships between young people and employers.

As an intermediary, H2H supports partnerships, practices, and policies that enable employers to secure the talent needed to succeed and provide students with multiple pathways to family-sustaining careers and choice-filled lives.

Reports to:

Vice President, Policy & Impact

Position Summary:

The Project Director, Policy and Impact will provide staff support to the Vice President of Policy and Impact, as well as the Director, Research and Analytics, for a range of initiatives, with a focus on two areas of work that are critical to our organization: the Key Distinguishers of Work-Based Learning (KDs); and direct advocacy efforts to generate support for expanded and enhanced work-based learning and career pathways in New York City’s public high schools, CUNY’s postsecondary programs, and employers.

The Key Distinguishers of Work-Based Learning (KDs) are an effort by HERE to HERE to combine research, as well as feedback from practitioners, to develop standards of practice for various settings in the field of work-based learning (like LEED certification for work-based learning). HERE to HERE has developed initial drafts of these materials, and plans to use them as a vehicle for our strategy and implementation plans for the next two years. In the Spring and Summer of 2020, we adapted them to create KDs for Virtual Internships in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and used them to guide grantmaking in support of 2020 summer internship programs.

Working closely with the Director, Research and Analytics, who leads the research effort to develop the content of the KDs, the Project Director will manage the process of the next iteration of the KDs through coordinating learning communities and integrating feedback. The position will also work with the VP, Policy and Impact to determine a policy agenda that supports the resources that schools, employers, and other practitioners need in order to implement the KDs. The Project Director will work with staff across the organization to help our networks of schools and partners begin to implement and measure the impact of use of the KDs.

Working closely with the Vice President, Policy and Impact, the Project Director will contribute to HERE to HERE’s broad-based advocacy efforts aimed at increasing support for expanded and enhanced work-based learning and career pathways efforts in New York City public high schools, CUNY’s postsecondary programs, and employers. Advocacy efforts will include participation in existing coalitions and networks with similar objectives; building relationships with organizations and individuals who have yet to become part of the movement for change in this direction; and assisting with the production of materials aimed at these goals. Eventually, we hope to bring these two areas of work together, so that the KD networks become the vehicle through which much or our advocacy activities are conducted.

Both of these areas of work will require a candidate with the skills, experience, and desire to  connect with individuals and organizations external to HERE to HERE, learn about their interests and motivations, and support their engagement with our organization.

This is a full-time overtime-exempt position. Since the start of the ongoing pandemic, HERE to HERE staff have been working from home. When the office reopens, this role will be based out of the HERE to HERE office, located in The Bronx, and will travel throughout NYC via public transportation to meetings and events.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about our mission and will thrive in a high energy, dynamic team like ours. And we mean TEAM. We collaborate, engage in healthy debate, jump in wherever our skills are needed, we all lead and follow. We are a group of unique individuals who truly believe in this work.

Position duties will include:

  • Support a variety of ongoing efforts in the Policy and Impact team, with an initial focus on the Key Distinguishers of Work-Based Learning.
  • Coordinate meetings with external stakeholders by setting agendas and logistical arrangements, preparing pertinent background materials, preparing pre-meeting materials, attending and documenting meetings, ensuring follow up and action items are complete.
  • In coordination with VP, Policy and Impact, support advocacy efforts and relationship building with key public stakeholders through client relationship management.
    • Organizing and meeting with NYC elected officials and agencies
    • Create public awareness campaigns
    • Collaborating and meeting with local advocates to support the KDs initiative
  • Support the development and stewardship of external partnerships. Represent HERE to HERE in meetings with external partners, including community groups,
  • students, and members of the public.
  • Serve as a thought partner to the VP, Policy and Impact and other Senior
  • Management.
  • Partner with colleagues across the organization to identify and share best
  • practices, lessons learned, and policy recommendations.

Qualifications & Experience :

  • Excellent writing, verbal communication and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to proof and edit written documents; Conversational Spanish language skills highly preferred.
  • Comfort and desire connecting to and developing relationships with individuals and organizations external to HERE to HERE, as we build a movement for change.
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially in Powerpoint and Excel) and Google Suite required; familiarity with Salesforce a plus.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience working in a fast-paced environment. Relevant experience includes: managing multiple projects simultaneously; working with senior staff and/or clients; experience working in advocacy, including creating convincing materials, pitching legislators and public officials, convening partners and coalition/network members.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills, and attention to detail; track record in meeting deadlines and working both independently and collaboratively.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, both establishing new projects and ensuring ongoing success of existing efforts.
