On Monday, April 13, CUNY SPH PhD student Kristen Cribbs successfully defended her dissertation, entitled Investigating the Impact of Nursing Practice Environment on Central Line-Associated Bloodstream Infections Among Older Adults in the Intensive Care Unit. Her committee was chaired by Dr. Elizabeth Eastwood with Dr. William Gallo and Dr. Marianne Fahs serving as committee members.

“I am so appreciative of the support and guidance I have received from faculty and colleagues during my time at the CUNY SPH,” Dr. Cribbs said. “I am especially grateful for the close mentorship and encouragement of my incredible committee members. Through conducting my dissertation research, I developed and honed my quantitative research abilities while expanding my understanding of critical issues related to hospital organization, care delivery, and patient safety. I have no doubt that the skills and knowledge I have gained throughout this journey will serve me well as I move forward in my career.”

Cribbs plans to continue working in the health services research and health policy fields on issues related to older adult health.
