On May 16, Leon Levine, a DPH student in the Environmental and Occupational Health track, successfully defended his dissertation, “The Association of Higher Carbon Dioxide Levels and Teachers’ Perceived Air Quality and Well Being in New York City Elementary Schools.”
“The SPH program and the Environmental, Occupational, and Geospatial Health Sciences department have been instrumental in my academic success and in the completion of my doctorate,” said Dr. Levine. “I am very grateful to the members of my committee: Drs. Frank Mirer, Mary Schooling, Sheng Li, and Brian Pavilonis. Each provided advice from their respective areas of expertise, which helped to improve the study and my dissertation.”
After graduating in June, Dr. Levine plans to continue conducting research on the topic of his dissertation, along with teaching and publishing papers and books.
