Gabrielle deFiebre, a doctoral student at CUNY Graduate School of Public Health and Health Policy (CUNY SPH), has been awarded the Don and Mary Ellen Passantino Scholarship by the CUNY University Student Senate (USS). The USS scholarship annually recognizes a student with disabilities who has demonstrated outstanding scholarship and enthusiastic leadership and service under extraordinary circumstances.
“I am honored that I was selected for the Don and Mary Ellen Passantino Scholarship for students with disabilities. The CUNY University Student Senate works hard to protect and support CUNY students, and one of the mechanisms through which they do this is through student scholarships. People with disabilities are a group that are underrepresented in higher education, so I am thankful they have a scholarship for students with disabilities. This scholarship will help me continue my doctoral work at the CUNY SPH,” said Ms. deFiebre.
