Presented by the Office of Career Services. The Pipeline to Preparedness Fellowship is a 10-month long paid opportunity provided by the Office of Emergency Preparedness & Response (OEPR) Division at the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) and designed to introduce early career professionals to the field of Public Health Emergency Management.

To meet the needs of this highly multi-disciplinary field within public health, OEPR focuses on recruiting students from diverse backgrounds at CUNY schools to participate in the program. Fellows are embedded within a unit in OEPR to work on assigned projects under a preceptor. These projects are an outstanding opportunity to learn about the work of public health emergency preparedness and response while protecting the health of millions of New Yorkers.

Fellows will advance OEPR’s mission while gaining hands-on experience in the field of public health emergency management and insight into career opportunities. Several former Pipeline Fellows join the agency as permanent staff or go on to work at other organizations in related roles!

Register for this info session to learn more about the program’s application process and offerings and hear from former fellows as they share their own experiences. You will also learn about the Health Department itself and the work that’s done in OEPR. Participants must be enrolled as a student at the start of the program. Email CareerServices@sph.cuny.edu for assistance with registering for this event on Handshake.
