Lisa Hitch is an Adjunct Lecturer at CUNY SPH, where she teaches Applied Biostatistics I, Quantitative Research Methods, and Supervised Fieldwork.
She is also a PhD candidate in Community Health with a dissertation focused on how health literacy and technology adoption influence the use of generative AI (such as ChatGPT) for accessing health information. Her past research has included publications on digital health, urban and migrant health, and health equity, with a particular focus on justice-impacted populations. In parallel with her academic work, Lisa is a Data Consultant. where she helps clients across industries to turn data into decision-making. Her consulting work involves building interactive dashboards in Tableau, automating workflows with Alteryx, optimizing SQL-based data pipelines, and delivering customized trainings for both individuals and teams. Lisa’s unique combination of academic and industry experience informs her teaching style: grounded in real-world data, focused on critical thinking, and dedicated to building students’ confidence and skill in becoming independent analysts.Outside of work, Lisa enjoys rock climbing, traveling, and searching for the best coffee shops in New York City. Lisa holds an MPH in Health Policy and Management from CUNY SPH and a BSc in Health Sciences from the Technical University of Munich, Germany.
