A renowned researcher, author, professor of epidemiology, and fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, and former editor-in-chief of Preventive Medicine, Morabia succeeds Mary E. Northridge, PhD, MPH in the chief editor role of the esteemed journal, which has published original work in public health research, methods and program evaluation since 1911.
In his inaugural interview, Morabia said the American Journal of Public Health should “also become clearly a global journal. It should shine out the clear message for researchers and scientists in America and in the Americas, in Africa and the Middle East, in India, Asia and Australia that we”re all interested in working together and sharing our experiences.” Alfredo Morabia was named editor-in-chief of the American Journal of Public Health in January 2015.
