Host a Career Prep Day
Career Prep Days are virtual, skills-based events that connect your team with CUNY SPH students and alumni for personalized support with job search fundamentals. These are not recruiting events—they’re an opportunity to share your professional expertise, support public health education, and help emerging professionals strengthen their resumes, interviews, and overall confidence.
These sessions also offer meaningful brand visibility and a mission-driven way for your staff to give back.
Session types include:
- Resume Review Day: Offer one-on-one feedback on student resumes
- Interview Skills Day: Conduct mock interviews and share interview strategies
- Cover Letter Day: Provide insight on structure, tone, and tailoring
- LinkedIn & Handshake Tune-Up Day: Help students enhance their digital presence
- Ask a Recruiter Day: Answer questions about the hiring process, workplace culture, and career paths in public health
Sessions typically run 1.5 to 2 hours and are scheduled during the fall and spring semesters. Whether your organization can provide a few volunteers or a full team, we’ll work with you to create a meaningful, accessible experience. We handle the logistics—your team simply joins the session and shares their insight.
Host a Discovery Series Information Session
The Discovery Series is a platform for organizations, public health professionals, and CUNY SPH alumni to connect with our student and alumni community through interactive, virtual information sessions. These events are designed to showcase real-world career paths, open roles, and workforce development opportunities—while helping your organization build visibility and lasting connections with future public health leaders.
Session types include:
- Employer Discovery Series: Highlight your organization’s mission, career opportunities, and workplace culture
- Career Discovery Series: Share your professional journey and public health insights—ideal for alumni and industry leaders
- Credentialing Discovery Series: Present licensure pathways, certifications, or continuing education programs
- Fellowship & Internship Discovery Series: Introduce structured programs that prepare emerging professionals for the field
Sessions typically run 60–90 minutes and are scheduled strategically around academic and recruitment timelines. We manage the logistics and promotion—you simply show up to share your story, connect with participants, and answer questions.
Recruit at Our Spring Career Fair
Each spring, the CUNY SPH Spring Career Fair brings together a diverse range of public health organizations and agencies to connect with our talented students and alumni. Hosted virtually on Handshake, this flagship event offers a dynamic platform to promote your organization, highlight career opportunities, and build your brand within the CUNY SPH community.
As a participating employer, you will have the opportunity to:

Get Involved with the Career Skills Academy
The Career Skills Academy (CSA) is a professional development program offered exclusively to CUNY SPH students, with a mission to advance equity in career success. We partner with public health professionals, employers, and alumni to deliver high-impact programming that prepares students to thrive in the workplace.
There are many ways to get involved as a CSA Professional Partner—from leading a guest masterclass or workshop, to hosting a networking session, to providing one-on-one resume or career feedback. Whether you’re available for a single event or a long-term collaboration, we’ll tailor the experience to match your team’s expertise and our students’ goals.

Become a Fieldwork Partner
CUNY SPH MPH and MS students are required to complete a 180-hour applied practice experience with a public health-focused organization. The Office of Experiential Learning (OEL) manages the fieldwork process and collaborates closely with host organizations to ensure a well-supported, mission-aligned experience.
By becoming a fieldwork partner, your organization can:
- Build a long-term pipeline of emerging public health professionals trained in research, policy, evaluation, data analysis, communications, and more
- Gain fresh perspectives and capacity to support strategic projects, research initiatives, or community programming
