Emanuel Mejia appointed interim administrative specialist for the Office of the Dean

CUNY SPH is excited to report that CUNY SPH alum Emanuel Mejia has been appointed interim administrative specialist for the office of Dean Ayman El-Mohandes, succeeding Paulo Léllis, who has been appointed chief of staff.

As a proud bilingual Latino who embraces cultural diversity, Emanuel is committed to maintaining the upmost ethical standards and brings his enthusiasm for supporting his alma mater. He holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Hunter College, a master’s degree in translational medicine from City College, and an MPH in epidemiology and biostatistics from CUNY SPH.

Emanuel’s prior work experiences include teaching undergraduate medical students, advising local and international projects, mentoring culturally diverse individuals, and assisting with international collaboration. As a former CEESP fellow, he conducted cancer epidemiology research in Colombia and collaborated with the inauguration of a Regional Hub in Population Health Informatics for South and Southeast Asia.

Emanuel is passionate about the multifaceted aspects of public health and loves traveling, soccer, history and statistics. He enjoys being immersed in a culturally diverse environment.
