CUNY SPH Dean Ayman El-Mohandes and Professor Jeffrey Lazarus appear among the top 1% of researchers cited in their field according to Clarivate’s 2024 Highly Cited Researchers list.
Clarivate’s Highly Cited Researchers have demonstrated significant and broad influence in their field, reflected in their publication of multiple papers ranking in the top 1% of citations for their field and publication year. Of the world’s population of scientists and social scientists, Highly Cited Researchers are one in 1,000.
The rigorous evaluation and selection process draws on data from Clarivate’s Web of Science Core Collection™ citation index, together with qualitative analysis performed by experts at the organization’s Institute for Scientific Information. The list provides valuable insights into the global landscape of top research talent and identifies trends across countries, regions and institutions.
Drs. El-Mohandes and Lazarus are two of five faculty across the CUNY system to receive the Highly Cited Researcher recognition in 2024.
In 2022, CUNY SPH Professor Levi Waldron was recognized.
