POSITION: Program Director, Perinatal Hep C & Enhanced Surveillance
ORGANIZATION: NYC DOHMH – Bureau of Hepatitis, HIV, and Sexually Transmitted Infections (BHHS)
The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (NYC DOHMH)’s Bureau of Hepatitis, HIV, and Sexually Transmitted Infections (BHHS) oversees the City’s response to viral hepatitis, HIV, and sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Its mission is to improve the lives of New Yorkers by ending transmission, illness, stigma, and inequities related to viral hepatitis, HIV and sexually transmitted infections. BHHS does this through testing initiatives; prevention, care, and treatment programming; epidemiology and surveillance; training and technical assistance; community engagement; social marketing; policy advocacy; and racial equity and social justice initiatives. The Viral Hepatitis Program conducts surveillance, and develops and implements programs and projects to prevent, manage and treat hepatitis B and C in New York City.
The Program Director for Perinatal Hepatitis C and Enhanced Surveillance will oversee perinatal hepatitis C surveillance, investigations and linkage to care as well as enhanced surveillance for hepatitis B/C, supervise staff, review medical chart information and laboratory data as needed, and participate in or lead surveillance quality assurance and analyses.
DUTIES WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:
- Manage and oversee Perinatal Hepatitis C Surveillance.
- Prepare datasets and ensure data are submitted to the CDC for grant reporting and deliverables are provided in a timely manner.
- Review cases and ensure linkage to care and testing guidelines are provided.
- Monitor and review cases <36 months of age reported with a positive hepatitis C test to identify cases of perinatal hepatitis C.
- Perform perinatal hepatitis C analyses using detailed, written protocols and associated tools, such as interview instruments or chart review tools.
- Oversee and manage routine and enhanced surveillance investigations.
- Prepare and assign cases for enhanced surveillance investigations including among those with hepatitis B, C, or perinatal infection. Revise or create new data collection forms, as needed.
- Supervise staff and interns conducting the investigations.
- Support and enhance program capacity for viral hepatitis B and C surveillance activities.
- Conduct quality assurance on hepatitis surveillance electronic reporting data.
- Monitor and improve the quality of hepatitis B and C data in the health department’s surveillance system (Maven).
- Additional data cleaning, management and analysis as needed, specially using SAS.
- Participate and lead viral hepatitis surveillance studies and analyses.

Minimum Qual Requirements
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and two years of full-time satisfactory experience in: (a) developing public health education programs, including identifying target populations, conducting needs assessments, designing educational materials, planning educational presentations or workshops, and evaluating health education programs; (b) presenting public health education programs; and/or (c) counseling in areas such as communicable diseases, substance abuse, assault, sexual abuse,
and/or family planning; or
2. A master’s degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following areas: public health education, education, public/community health administration, public administration or business administration and one year of full-time satisfactory experience as described in “1” above.

POSITION: Research Project Manager III

The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a full-time position as a Research Project Manager III in the Division of Gender, Sexuality and Health. The study is a randomized controlled trial to test the efficacy of a trauma-informed, multi-level status-neutral intervention delivered via telehealth to reduce health disparities among trans women of color.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Research Project Manager will be responsible for the following:
- Direct day-to-day operations of the project: (1) drafting, adapting, and updating research and IRB protocols; (2) overseeing participant recruitment and retention in partnership with community-based clinical partner organizations; (3) overseeing sub-studies as needed; (4) overseeing data collection, including biomarkers; and (5) assuring compliance with all data collection standards.
- Hire, train and supervise study related personnel, creating and monitoring personnel effort and assignments.

POSITION: Project Coordinator
ORGANIZATION: The University of Maryland’s Urban Equity Collaborative (UEC)
The University of Maryland’s Urban Equity Collaborative (UEC) is seeking a highly motivated Project Coordinator. The collaborative seeks to strengthen community-based institutions and the work of community activists around issues of urban inequality. It aims to incubate and disseminate durable research and policy strategies that promote economic, racial, and gender justice and shifts power towards communities on the frontlines of struggle.
The collaborative’s work will focus on issues of dispossession and displacement, and specifically issues of affordable housing access, immigrant rights, and small business displacement. Through capacity and knowledge exchange with communities, the Urban Equity Collaborative leverages the collective expertise of university researchers in the service of community-led work. A unique feature of this initiative is its community fellows program where community leaders, including community-based organizational representatives, organizers, and
activists, are invited to become researchers-in-residence. Further information about the initiative can be found below.
The Project Coordinator will support and report to the Director, Dr. Willow Lung-Amam, and Co-Principal Investigators, Dr. Nancy Mirabal and Dr. Devon Payne-Sturges. The Project Coordinator will also coordinate and facilitate the activities of support staff, consultants, community fellows, graduate fellows, and collaborative members. The collaborative is housed in the School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation.
The intended term of the position is 1.5 years based on agreed upon benchmarks of accomplishment, with an option for renewal dependent upon funding and other factors. This is a full-time, salaried University of Maryland, exempt, Contingent II staff position. Benefits include healthcare, retirement, and university tuition remission. POSITION: Coordinator, Volunteer Services
ORGANIZATION: Volunteer Services WIN
Win’s Volunteer Services department encompasses the recruitment, training, placement, and coordination of over 1,200 volunteers who support Win, as well as the cultivation and distribution of all in-kind donations to the organization. The department matches client & staff needs with appropriate volunteers/in-kind donors to create enriching experiences for clients, offer products/services that Win could not otherwise access, and provide a supplementary workforce to ease staff workloads. Volunteer Services acts as a linkage point between frontline staff, in-kind donors, and volunteers, with a responsibility to educate external contributors on best practices of supporting Win in a TIC (trauma-informed care) and DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) framework. Volunteers & in-kind donors are essential members of our team, and they make a significant difference in the lives of families we serve.
Purpose of the Position: The Volunteer Services Coordinator is responsible for the administration and management of volunteer programs, in-kind donations, and other projects in the Volunteer Services Department. This job includes project management, administrative tasks, volunteer supervision, and commuting to Win sites throughout New York City for programs/events (mostly weekdays, rarely evenings/weekends). The Coordinator works closely with the Interns, Manager, and Director to ensure the success of all Volunteer Services programs.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Coordinate training, onboarding, and supervision of volunteers; lead virtual & in-person orientation presentations; and support volunteer operations & placements across organization
- Coordinate all aspects of volunteer programs for Win (e.g., outreach to individual & group volunteers; program design, promotion, flyer creation, & evaluation; coordination with onsite staff & clients; day-of logistics & leadership; and intern scheduling & supervision)
- Manage relationships with individuals & groups of volunteers (corporate & non-profit) to provide volunteer events for Win shelters and supportive housing programs (virtual and in-person)
- Assist the Manager & Director with identifying and cultivating in-kind donor relationships; coordinate in-kind donation deliveries, pick-ups, inspections, organization, and distribution
- Manage day-to-day Donation Room operations, which includes supervising interns, assigning tasks to volunteers, seasonal reorganization, and donation distribution logistics
- Foster close relationships with Win Programs, Development, & Operations staff; liaise between clients, onsite staff, and volunteers to provide impactful and fulfilling experiences for everyone
- Ensure that all volunteer programs and in-kind donations adhere to best practices of TIC (trauma-informed care) and DEI (diversity, equity, & inclusion) as set by the Director & Manager
- Assist with annual programs including the Backpack Buddies Drive, College Kit project, Holiday Gift Program, Gala, Impact Party, Volunteer & In-Kind Donor Reception, Thanksgiving food boxes, etc.
- Maintain up-to-date records on volunteers, events, and in-kind donations using a range of software including Salesforce, SurveyMonkey, Smartsheet, and SignUpGenius
- Write quarterly newsletter & work with Communications staff to promote programs externally
- Conduct written translations (mostly flyers) and oral interpretations (at volunteer events) as needed to support Spanish-speaking clients
Essential Functions:
- Must be able to sit at a computer for long periods of the workday
- Must be able to travel to Win sites and other related meetings throughout New York City
- Must be able to regularly lift up to 40 pounds and do significant physical work
- Must be able to ascend/descend up to two flights of stairs

- Spanish language proficiency preferred
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) & Canva preferred
- Previous volunteer and/or customer service experience preferred
- Bachelor’s/Associate’s degree preferred
- Must be able to work some evenings and weekends as needed for special events
- Must be able to manage a high volume of correspondence quickly and professionally
