POSITION: Health Educator

ORGANIZATION: California Public Health Institute (PHI) 

Position Summary: The Public Health Institute (PHI) is a large non-profit public health organization conducting a broad range of public health research, training, and technical assistance programs in California, throughout the nation, and around the world.  PHI is seeking a full time Health Educator III (HE III) for its Tracking California program, which includes the Sickle Cell Data Collection Program.  This position is located in the San Francisco Bay Area with remote work options.

This position represents an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong interest in working in a multidisciplinary team to synthesize, communicate, and disseminate scientific information about a variety of environmental and health topics to diverse audiences with the goal of supporting public health activities, community advocacy, and health policy through the production of meaningful, accessible, and accurate data.  The HE III will work closely with the program’s scientific research and health education staff.  Information on Tracking California and the Sickle Cell Data Collection Program is available at trackingcalifornia.org.

Full salary range for this position: $61,372 to $87,882 per year

POSITION: Senior Program Officer, Health Program

POSITION: Health Statistician

ORGANIZATION: CDC National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS)

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS), in Hyattsville, Maryland, is seeking a GS-13 level Health Statistician to work in the Population Health Reporting and Dissemination Branch (PHRDB) within the Division of Analysis and Epidemiology.

A primary role of PHRDB is to coordinate the production of Health, United States, a congressionally mandated annual report on the health of the nation from the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services to the President of the United States and Congress.

The Health Statistician will work as part of the PHRDB team of analysts responsible for planning and conducting research studies related to national population health statistics. Activities in PHRDB are highly collaborative, with analysts working alongside SAS programmers in the development of Health, United States and other products.

POSITION: Statistician

POSITION: Senior Consultant (Remote)

Overview:

Responsibilities (50% of total time):

  • Contribute to build-out of application elements and reviewing application elements throughout, toward a goal of a cohesive application

  • Identify problem areas as they arise and work collaboratively with team members to address

Responsibilities (50% of total time):

  • Directly manage projects as needed, spefically new projects in early stages
  • Set up a standard process and procedure to measure and monitor the project and associated staff long-term
  • Use KPIs to understand when projects are on-or-off-track
  • Manage existing team of 5 staff members (not to exceed 7) working on projects
  • Conduct annual performance reviews

Qualifications:

  • Contribute to a culture based on our core values and orienting our work toward a low-stress, high-performance workplace
  • Strong understanding of the Social Service and non-for-profit sector
  • At least 3 years serving in supervisory capacity
  • Demonstrated experience in Process management
  • Demonstrated creative and analytical skills
  • Experience having worked for a consulting firm highly preferred
  • Track record of managing projects with both internal and external team members
  • Ability to travel interstate as necessary (estimated 2 days/month)
  • Effective writing and other communication skills

 Salary ranging from $90,000 to $110,000

EIS officers serve on the front lines of public health, protecting Americans and the global community, while training under the guidance of seasoned mentors. When disease outbreaks or other public health threats emerge, EIS officers investigate, identify the cause, rapidly implement control measures, and collect evidence to recommend preventive actions.
