POSITION: Policy Coordinator
ORGANIZATION: Young Invincibles
The Policy Coordinator will help implement and achieve Young Invincibles’ policy and advocacy goals and New York (Northeast) regional goals. The Coordinator will attend legislative meetings, as well as coalition and partner organization meetings, conduct policy research and analysis, and help track progress towards our regional goals. The Coordinator will also help to organize and execute the New York office’s advocacy efforts, including campaigns, public testimony, conducting meetings and facilitating and coordinating events to engage policymakers, stakeholders and young people; and collaborating with our team to elevate critical content and dialogue on YI policy issues. The position will work to support the advocacy efforts of our young adult network throughout New York State and will work collaboratively with various Young Invincible teams and external allies to advance integrated issue campaigns.
The Coordinator will play an integral role in state-based policy advocacy, research, and writing. This position will help implement Young Invincibles’ advocacy and government affairs work in New York State. This position reports to the Northeast Regional Director.

Job Summary:
The primary responsibility of the Statistician will be to actively participate in research efforts at our research program for general surgery, including its subspecialities such as acute care surgery and trauma surgery. You will design, implement, complete, analyze and prepare manuscripts on studies related to general surgery. Reporting to the Program Director, Redevelopment Programs, the Environmental Program Manager, Aviation Redevelopment has overall responsibility for all Redevelopment Program Environmental matters and works to ensure the Program performs in a manner and consistent with Port Authority environmental goals and strategies, State and Federal Environmental Regulations.
This position will support Aviation Redevelopment programs at JFK, EWR, and LGA Airports, and may report to headquarters (4 WTC) and/or the airports based on business priorities.
- Serve as Redevelopment Program Subject Matter Expert (SME) in environmental regulation, environmental compliance, soil and groundwater remediation, petroleum bulk storage regulation, Major Oil Storage Facility (MOSF) license for aircraft fuel distribution, State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (SPDES) Permit compliance, Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP), construction dewatering treatment, environmental permitting, asbestos and lead paint abatement and the collection and treatment of spent aircraft deicing fluids.
- Oversee Logistic Support Services (LSS)/construction materials management program and support integration into the Redevelopment Program logistics planning.
- Serve as Redevelopment Program liaison to the Port Authority Law Department on environmental matters associated with property transactions including lease negotiation, environmental baseline strategies and adherence to environmental requirements mandated in tenant leases throughout their term.
- Serve as Redevelopment Program liaison to NYSDEC including representing the Port Authority in Permit negotiations including modifications resulting from the Redevelopment activities.
- Oversee Redevelopment Program compliance with approved NEPA Documents.
- Serve as Redevelopment Program SME and technical liaison for complex environmental matters and represent the Redevelopment Program to internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborates with Redevelopment Program Project Managers, Port Authority Engineering Department and Tenant Airport Developers to ensure contract documents are prepared and work is completed in a manner consistent with Environmental Regulations and the Redevelopment Program environmental goals and strategies.
Qualifications: Candidates must present the following qualifications to be considered eligible for this position:
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or Construction Management from an accredited university or college or related field.
- A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in the educational areas.
- A minimum of 10 years working with the NYSDEC and/or other State regulatory agencies regarding aviation environmental compliance issues as described above.
- Experience in environmental management including design and construction of projects at aviation facilities.

Additional requirements include a strong record of scholarly achievement, sustained extramural research funding as Principal Investigator, experience in teaching, and mentoring a new generation of public health researchers, evidence of community engagement, and a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, justice, and anti-racism.
The ideal candidate will enhance, complement, and deepen our current department strengths, including but not limited to: cancer epidemiology, chronic disease epidemiology, environmental epidemiology, epidemiologic methods, infectious disease epidemiology, nutritional epidemiology, reproductive and/or perinatal epidemiology, social epidemiology, and/or pharmacoepidemiology. The faculty member shall:
- Lead a rigorous, externally funded research program
- Engage in scholarly activity including publications and presentation of research results at the national and international levels
- Teach coursework as well as mentor students and early career faculty
- Provide service to and with the department, school, university, and communities/populations we serve

POSITION: Assistant Professor of Public Health, CSUSM

The Department of Public Health at CSUSM has an open tenure-track faculty position. Preferred qualifications: Demonstrated ability to teach and apply biostatistics and epidemiology toward one of the offered concentrations in health promotion and health education or global health; ability to collaborate with other faculty to develop, implement, and evaluate community-engaged research and service learning projects; and, demonstrated multicultural intelligence and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in teaching, research, and/or service.
Minimum Qualifications : An earned doctorate (e.g., PhD, DrPH, ScD, MD, etc.) in Public Health or a closely related field is required. ABD candidates will be considered but must have completed the doctorate at the time of appointment (August 2023). The candidate should have a demonstrated record of success in teaching and research commensurate with the qualifications for Assistant Professor at CSUSM. Experience in teaching, research, or other creative activities, and the ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with colleagues on an ethnically and culturally diverse campus are required. Candidate must have experience working with college-level students and practical experience in preparing manuscripts and grant proposals.

POSITION: Deputy Director, Policy & Partnerships
ORGANIZATION: California Alliance of Schools and Programs of Public Health (Cal-SPPH Alliance)
California Alliance of Schools and Programs of Public Health (Cal-SPPH Alliance) is seeking a Deputy Director with strong policy skills to join a dynamic team committed to working with public health and social justice leaders from academia, community, government and beyond to inform and address policy and workforce needs for health equity.
The Deputy Director is responsible for providing leadership and operations support to advance the mission and goals of The California Alliance of Schools and Programs of Public Health (Cal-SPPH Alliance), an exciting new statewide initiative to mobilize the schools and programs of public health in California for collective impact and to build a statewide policy, research, and action network. This position will lead on policy issues impacting health equity, drawing on their health equity expertise including dissemination of results of policy efforts, collaborating with regional and state organizations and lawmakers through various Cal-SPPH communications venues. We are looking for a candidate with expertise in the determinants of health and familiarity of the California health policy landscape. The ideal candidate has a very strong understanding of policy advocacy and programmatic dynamics, particularly in settings such as local health departments and other low resourced settings, as well as excellent interpersonal, communication, writing, editing and negotiating skills. This position reports to the Executive Director (ED) of the Cal-SPPH, standing in for the ED as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 5 years of increasingly responsible experience in management and policy analysis at an organization that receives funding from federal, state or philanthropy.
- At least 1 year of experience supervising staff. Knowledge/experience related to leadership can substitute.
- Bachelor’s degree required, or substitute with four additional years of related experience.
