POSITION: Project Coordinator, Health Equity and Access to Care (HEAC) Project
ORGANIZATION: CUNY Research Foundation – CUNY Center for Immigrant, Refugee and Global Health (CIRGH)
The Health Equity and Access to Care (HEAC) project focuses on individuals’ experiences with healthcare in New York City. It is a multi-year collaboration with the Bureau of Equitable Health Systems at the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOH).
The project comprises focus groups and interviews with a diverse sample of New York City residents.
We are looking to hire a Project Coordinator who will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the project working closely with the PI (Prof. Diana Romero), the HEAC Project Administrator and Associate Director of the CUNY Center for Immigrant, Refugee and Global Health (CIRGH; Elisabeth Manipoud Figueroa), and several Focus Group Moderators/Project Assistants. The HEAC Project Coordinator will manage multiple aspects of the project, including but not limited to: participant outreach and recruitment; focus group/interview scheduling and coordination; data collection management and preparation for analysis; IRB updates/amendments and renewals; contact with vendors; and overall project coordination (e.g., meetings/minutes, project summaries/updates, project document management, literature review, presentation preparation, etc).
Applicant Qualifications
The successful applicant will have a combination of the following:
- an advanced degree in public health or a related field (or be near completion)
- 2+ years of work experience with research design and implementation
- demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and assignments
- strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- strong verbal and written communication skills
- experience with Qualtrics, Dedoose and/or Excel
- working knowledge of another language (desired, not required)
Position Commitment and Compensation
Depending on the candidate’s background skills and experience, the position ultimately offered can range between 28 and 35 hours/week per week. This is a grant-funded position managed through the CUNY Research Foundation with an hourly rate between $30-35 and will include benefits. While some remote work is possible, a weekly in-office work presence is required (specific schedule to be established), as well as occasional travel to different NYC-based recruitment events/venues. The position is available to be filled immediately.

POSITION: Government Affairs Associate

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Federal Government Affairs, the Government Affairs Associate will be responsible for supporting Greater New York Hospital Association (GNYHA) government affairs staff. The primary focus for this position is Federal advocacy.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Senior Vice President to produce written materials including legislative alerts, PowerPoint presentations, as well as articles for GNYHA newsletters.
- Provide project specific research support on a variety of topics that affect GNYHA members.

- Travel to various meetings in New York City and Washington, DC.
- Interact directly with Congressional staff, including Capitol Hill visits.
- Assist in the completion and submission of Federal lobbying disclosures.
Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 0 – 2 years’ experience working in healthcare policy or government and/or a strong desire to work in these sectors.
- Strong writing and presentation skills (Word, and PowerPoint).
- Highly organized and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to learn various software products to track legislation and perform other duties (e.g. Legislative Retrieval System, Phone2Action, etc).
- Familiarity with legislative process a plus.
- Experience in Federal Public Health and/or public policy a plus.
- Ability and willingness to travel occasionally.

POSITION: Program Manager, Get the Good Stuff

The Healthy Eating Unit seeks a Get the Good Stuff Program Manager to support expansion and implementation of the Get the Good Stuff program. Salary range for this position is between $77,000-83,000.
Get the Good Stuff aims to make fruits and vegetables more affordable for New Yorkers participating in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) by providing a dollar-for-dollar match on SNAP purchases of eligible fruits, vegetables and beans at select independent grocery stores.
The Get the Good Stuff Program Manager will report to the Senior Manager, Nutrition Incentives Portfolio and be a key member of a team of 4-5 people focused on developing and executing innovative approaches to increasing access to healthy food among New Yorkers with low incomes.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the Get the Good Stuff program including recruiting and selecting supermarket partners for program expansion, overseeing supermarket inventory review and training supermarket staff. Manage program implementation at all participating supermarkets and provide ongoing technical assistance with promoting, tracking and monitoring incentive distribution and redemption.
- Manage relationships with participating supermarkets and participating supermarkets point-of-sales (POS) vendors and oversee development and implementation of electronic incentive systems in partnership with POS vendors.
- Manage, with guidance from the Senior Manager, program budgets and grant reporting to external evaluators and grant funders. In coordination with the Fund for Public Health NYC, execute contracts with program partners and monitor contract deliverables, budgets and invoicing.
- Supervise and manage staff who coordinate day-to-day program operations and part-time temporary staff that support program recruitment, implementation and evaluation activities.
- With guidance from the Bureaus research and evaluation team and the Senior Program Manager, plan and implement process and outcome evaluations and support data analysis and reporting.
- Manage Get the Good Stuff promotional activities including developing communication materials, outreaching to internal and external stakeholders and collecting program partner and participant testimonials.
- Serve as a representative of DOHMH in meetings, give presentations and develop written materials as needed.
Qualifications: Master’s degree in public health, public policy, nutrition or related field from an accredited college or university. At least three years of professional experience, including two years of experience coordinating nutrition programs.

POSITION: Specialist, Health Education

Health Plan of San Joaquin, CA is hiring a second health education specialist. It is a remote position, with required in person meetings. The Health Education Specialist is responsible for assisting with the planning, developing and implementing of member and provider health education programs and services consistent with state and departmental objectives and applicable regulations. - Assists in the development of department population-based health education programs to include action plans and budgets that align with company-wide and department objectives.
