POSITION: Research Data Associate
ORGANIZATION: NYU Division of Environmental Pediatrics 

Position Summary:

In this role, the successful candidate for Research Data Associate will primarily support a new prospective cohort study relating to the impact that environmental factors have on fertility and reproductive health, one of several studies taking place within the Division. The team member may also work on other projects, which include the NYU Children’s Health & Environment Study (NYU CHES); the Environmental influences on Child Health Outcomes (ECHO) Program; and the NYU Pediatric Obesity, Metabolism and Kidney Cohort Center.  This position will support a growing program of work and will involve recruitment and retention of participants, data collection, processing and storing of biological samples, record keeping, and other day-to-day research activities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Obtain informed consent from study participants and carefully follow study protocols and scripts. 
  • Communicate with research participants, including but not limited to: scheduling, confirming, and rescheduling appointments. 
  • Collect biospecimen samples from research participants and safely transport the samples to the lab. 
  • Process biospecimen samples in the lab.
  • Obtain clinical data, including body measurements, DXA scans, and blood pressure measurements during scheduled study visits. 
  • Obtain non-clinical data via questionnaires and chart abstraction. 
  • Conduct follow-up calls with participants to ensure accurate data collection and assist with questionnaire data collection. Keep records of all interactions in our call center database in a comprehensible way.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork and documentation, including but not limited to data collection, as well as documentation of specimen delivery and participant incentives. 
  • Perform data entry and database management activities. 
  • Support the study, including but not limited to: creating electronic study forms, cleaning data, and generating reports to be used for participant scheduling and follow-up. 
  • Ensure adequate stocking of supplies and report needs to supervisor. 
  • Maintain a positive and accommodating relationship with study team and participants. 
  • Evening and weekend hours and some travel required. 
  • Other duties and projects as assigned. 

Minimum Qualifications:

To qualify you must have an Associate’s degree plus one year of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Computer literate with excellent interpersonal, writing, and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree plus one year of related experience in a health care, research, or educational environment. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including written and verbal skills. Ability to prioritize work, manage time, and meet tight deadlines. Excellent organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail. Ability to operate independently and with good judgment. POSITION: Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) Facilitator
ORGANIZATION: NYU Langone Health

BRIDGE (BRInging the Diabetes Prevention Program to Geriatric populations)

This is an R01 NIH Clinical trial. BRIDGE is an effectiveness trial of an adapted National Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) tailored to engage older adults with prediabetes. The National DPP is an evidence-based lifestyle change program proven to help people at risk of type 2 diabetes reduce their risk and improve their overall health. It consists of group sessions, led by certified Lifestyle Coaches, focused on building healthy eating and physical activity habits that contribute to healthy lifestyles. 

BRIDGE DPP workshops were designed to increase the engagement and retention of older adults in DPP. BRIDGE workshops discuss the similar topics to the standard DPP such as ways to stay active, tracking your food and how to cope with triggers material. The purpose of the study is to see if a virtual Diabetes Prevention Program is as effective at engaging and retaining older adults in attendance than an in person version of the National Diabetes Prevention Program. 

The DPP Facilitator will have the following responsibilities for the position:

  • Develop and refine intervention materials to deliver the 22 session DPP intervention online and in person to groups of participants 
  • Work with the study team to update study protocols and protocol amendments as needed, including the development of new measures.
  • Work with the study team to develop recruitment strategies and manage tracking database.
  • Assist in managing data; perform regular audits to ensure that collected data are complete and accurate, and research and clinical protocols are being followed.
  • Collaborate with IT and data management resources in the development and editing of databases.
  • Assist study team in drafting reports, preparing conference abstracts, and presentations related to the projects. (RedCAP) 
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient and program information per HIPAA, study, and program protocols
  • Collect and record accurate data on patient outreach, workshop delivery, and study metrics in program databases 
  • Evening or weekend work may be required
  • Other duties, as assigned
  • This is a grant funded position with a duration of 4 years

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1-2 years’ experience preferred in previous research or programmatic experience in public health or related field and experience working with similar populations.

POSITION: Director, Regulatory Analysis
ORGANIZATION: Greater New York Hospital Association

Greater New York Hospital Association (GNYHA) is a trade association representing nearly 160 hospitals and health systems in the metropolitan New York area and throughout the State, as well as New Jersey, Connecticut, and Rhode Island.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President for Regulatory and Professional Affairs, the Director, Regulatory Analysis, will support GNYHA member institutions a broad range of substantive issues including hospital operations, health information technology and digital health, and a variety of New York State, New York City, Medicare and Medicaid policies and regulations. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with tracking and monitoring State and Federal policy and regulatory developments.
  • Support Legal, Regulatory, and Professional Affairs (LRP) staff in researching health care policy and operations issues. Review and synthesize information including the potential impact on hospitals to support GNYHA advocacy.
  • Maintain up-to-date, comprehensive knowledge of hospital quality reporting requirements and provide technical assistance to hospitals on best practices for compliance.
  • Support LRP staff in identifying topics of interest and developing GNYHA member presentations and programs.
  • Review and analyze federal and state policy proposals and communicate impact, orally and in writing, to support GNYHA advocacy.

Minimum Education Credentials Required:

Experience and Skills Required: 

  • 5+ years’ experience working in a health care policy role in a government agency, a legislative body, at a health care provider institution, and/or in another health care organization required.

POSITION: Community Resource Coordinator 
ORGANIZATION: Public Health Solutions

Position Summary:

As part of continued efforts to ensure that New York City’s response to citywide recovery from COVID-19 is achieved through an equitable and place-based approach, the Fund for Public Health in New York City (FPHNYC) has partnered with Public Health Solutions and two community-based partnering organizations to implement a community health worker model that engages communities, address social needs, support health interventions and conduct social service navigation in communities most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

PHS seeks a Community Resource Coordinator (CRC) to work closely with community members, PHS staff and partner community-based and clinical organizations throughout this project. The CRC reports to the Project Manager, with a focus on engaging community members, collecting and providing COVID-19 education, information and connection to other resources in targeted communities of Western Queens. The CRC will also assist in coordinating outreach and engagement events and participate in community meetings and stakeholder briefings. The Coordinator position is full time, 35 hours per week.

This project is grant funded with an anticipated end date of 05/31/2023.

POSITION: Postgraduate Research Associate

We are seeking a Postgraduate Research Associate for a position to join our team in the Yale AIDS Program at the Yale School of Medicine. The candidate will conduct/coordinate two ongoing domestic projects directly related to HIV and substance use prevention among people who inject drugs (PWID). We are seek candidates with the following attributes:

  • Passion for increasing equity and engaging with vulnerable populations,
  • Experience operating studies, including: questionnaire development, IRB protocol management, coordinating schedules, interviewing, analyses, and publication writing,
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

The ideal candidate should have completed a graduate program in a health-related field (e.g., MPH, Health Promotion, Psychology; or plan to graduate by May 2022), but has not yet received a doctoral degree and is seeking advanced scientific training for a duration of 1 year, with possible extension to include a second year of training. Prior clinical research experience, particularly with people with substance use disorder, is a plus but not required. The Postgraduate Associate position is one year in duration, with a starting salary of $38,069.

The position is full time and in-person in New Haven, Connecticut. Ideally, we are looking for someone who would be able to start on at least a part time basis towards the end of April/beginning of May, and transition to full time by June 1st.

The Eidos LGBT+ Health Initiative at the University of Pennsylvania is a newly formed social innovation hub focused on improving LGBT+ people’s health and well-being through social innovations rooted in science and community co-creation. Anchored in the School of Nursing, Eidos is a first-of-its-kind academic social entrepreneurship lab that has four goals: to propose innovative projects that considers factors associated with health among LGBT+ populations, to create a space that brings together different voices and perspectives, to train students to think about creative solutions to improve LGBT+ health, and to catalyze evidence-based strategies and programs focused on health issues for this group.

Senior Director, Eidos LGBTQ+ Health Initiative

The Senior Director will manage the daily operations of the new Eidos LGBTQ+ Health Initiative, this will require liaising with a wide range of constituents – faculty, staff, students, advisors, community partners, as well as donors. The Sr. Director will be the principal person responsible for coordinating every aspect of the initiative: communication, fund-raising, project development, conference planning and production, and the oversight of business planning and product development teams. The person will provide strategic thought leadership on the administration of the program to ensure operational efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity. The Sr. Director reports directly to the Eidos Faculty Director with a dotted line for fund-raising to the Vice Dean for Institutional Advancement.  Together they will successfully collaborate to establish and refine the initiative’s scope and strategy, ensure effective management of the administrative operations of Eidos, especially the creation and management of Eidos’ budget and branding, and coordination with stakeholders and partners. The Sr. Director will supervise a team of permanent and temporary staff, and students. The candidate should have a Masters’ (preferably an MBA) or doctorate in related field, and 5-7 years of successful experience leading LGBTQ+ programs and initiatives, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Entrepreneurship skills and a commitment to innovation are required, particularly as it relates to achieving health equity in LGBTQ+ health.

Director of Engagement, Eidos LGBTQ+ Health Initiative

The Director of Engagement (DoE) will assist faculty and students with engagement projects and proposals, particularly as part of the Eidos LGBTQ+ Health Initiative, including identifying potential partners, finding a good fit between community and project outcomes, creating inquiry-based experiences for students with a range of ages and backgrounds, developing budgets, and planning assessments. The DoE will also provide advice on the value of broader impact activities related to LGBTQ+ health equity. The DoE will establish and maintain coordination of Eidos’ community engagement programming. Includes developing long-term relationships with partners within and outside the University and supporting opportunities that increase access to and participation of underrepresented groups in LGBTQ+ health work. The DoE will implement best practices and remain up to date on current standards to develop policies and procedures to implement assessment and evaluation tools needed to support broader impacts commitments made in awarded projects. The DoE will work with faculty and other University personnel on preparing materials that may be used to support federal, foundation, and private funding of the Eidos LGBTQ+ Health Initiative, including monitoring sharing information, resources, assessment results, and opportunities internally and externally (e.g., via on-line database/website, social media, regular meetings, and publications. A Masters or Doctorly Prepared candidate, with 3 – 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Senior Innovation Manager, Eidos LGBTQ+ Health Initiative

The Senior Innovation Manager is responsible for designing and executing entrepreneurship projects for the Eidos LGBTQ+ Health Initiative at the University of Pennsylvania. The Innovation Manager is expected to have expertise in developing prototypes using human centered design, design thinking principles, and rapid experimentation and implementation. As a leader within Eidos, they guide project strategy and advises other staff and external partners to accelerate project progress and potential for impact. They will manage a portfolio of projects with a focus on addressing LGBTQ+ Health. This position requires a high degree of sophistication, resourcefulness, creativity, and the ability to lead by influencing others at all levels across the organization. The Innovation Manager must have the ability to elicit insights from diverse stakeholders, including community members, students, faculty, and staff; help align teams’ understanding of unmet needs; lead teams in designing applications people love to use, perform analyses, and construct compelling cases for investment of resources, and assess competing priorities to set clear direction. Masters’ Degree required and 5+ years of experience working in LGBTQ+ health, innovation or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Experience in designing and testing products for LGBTQ+ communities is preferred.

Center Program Coordinator, Eidos LGBTQ+ Health Initiative

The Center Program Coordinator will provide high level administrative support and customer service to faculty, staff, and students working within the Eidos LGBTQ+ Health Initiative to support daily program operations. The individual will take initiative and use sound judgment to respond to program needs, helping process requests, plan meetings and events, and support projects in accordance with University and external funding policies. Additionally, the individual gathers data for projects and provides writing and editorial assistance for manuscripts, papers, presentations. This role provides a variety of support for grants including assisting with the project proposal process, maintaining faculty publication and awards database, creating surveys, and generating reports. Duties:

  • Participates in all aspects of the inspection process. The incumbent works with a project lead to identify potential inspection assignments related to Medicare, Medicaid, and public health and human services programs.
