POSITION: Administrative/Technology Assistant

ORGANIZATION: CUNY Graduate School of Public Health & Health Policy

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the general supervision of the Project Director, the Administrative/Technology Assistant develops and implements a monitoring and scheduling tool that tracks training hours and schedule of the resource navigators and supervisors. The Administrative/Technology Assistant also assists in setting up virtual meetings and supporting the Program Manager in providing technical support and overall assistance to resource navigators and resource navigator supervisors. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Responsible for setting up a monitoring tool to track tasks, and hours of the different resource navigator and resource navigator supervisors

POSITION: SRAE Sexual Health Education Program Coordinator (Apply by 11/20)

ORGANIZATION: Sunset Park Health Council (Family Health Centers at NYU Langone) – Community Programs

Position Summary: 

The Sexual Health Education Program Coordinator will be responsible for leading the roll out of the SREA program based at Sunset Park Prep Middle School. The program will include facilitating the Adult Identity Role Models (AIM) evidence-based curriculum, parent workshops and individual meetings with youth, and a summer program to provide comprehensive, age appropriate sexual health education for youth ages 10-13.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate provision of AIM curriculum, individual meetings with youth, parent workshops and referrals associated with SRAE program
  • Serve as the point person for partnership with Sunset Park Prep and other schools in the community. 
  • Facilitate AIM curriculum with middle school students.
  • Plan and facilitate parent workshops
  • Work with Project SAFE program coordinator to run summer peer educator group
  • Provide direct supervision for two full-time SRAE health educator
  • Work with director in creating systems for tracking grant deliverables
  • Work with director to ensure all deliverables associated with SREA grant are met including fidelity to the AIM curriculum
  • Build relationships with community partners, school staff and parent organizations
  • Ensure that a Positive Youth Development Approach is used in all in programming and that all services and lessons are LGBTQ+ inclusive
  • Work with director to prepare reports for SREA grant

POSITION: Sexual Health Educator (SAMHSA)

ORGANIZATION: Sunset Park Health Council (Family Health Centers at NYU Langone) – Community Programs

Position Summary: 

The Health Educator will facilitate evidence-based sexual health workshops for youth, implement risk reduction counseling and provide sexual health education at Wingate Campus High School. They will work closely the SAMHSA initiative team and Project SAFE.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Conduct evidence-based sexual health workshops in Central Brooklyn high schools and community based organizations using the Making Proud Choices curriculum. 
  2. Administer substance abuse and sexual health risk assessment surveys to all workshop participants. 
  3. Meet individually with workshop participants identified as “high risk” to provide risk reduction counseling using Motivational Interviewing. 
  4. Connect workshop participants to FHC School Based Health Center, FHC Flatbush Health Center, or other social services. 
  5. Promote FHC Flatbush Health Center services. 
  6. Provide sexual health education to youth at Wingate School Based Health Center. 
  7. Provide rapid HIV counseling at Wingate School Based Health Center and complete all related documentation. 
  8. Participate in FHC community events to connect youth STI and HIV testing. 
  9. A Positive Youth Development Approach is used in all in programming and that all services and lessons are LGBTQ+ inclusive
  10. Participate in weekly staff meetings at Project Reach Youth. 
  11. Submit all required documentation.

POSITION: Training and Education Coordinator

The Fund for Public Health in New York City, (FPHNYC) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that is dedicated to the advancement of the health and well-being of all New Yorkers.  To this end, in partnership with the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH), FPHNYC incubates innovative public health initiatives implemented by DOHMH to advance community health throughout the city. It facilitates partnerships, often new and unconventional, between government and the private sector to develop, test, and launch new initiatives. These collaborations speed the execution of demonstration projects, effect expansion of successful pilot programs, and support rapid implementation to meet the public health needs of individuals, families, and communities across New York City.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW (Immunization COVID 19 – CARES, Gotham Center, Long Island City NY, 11101)

The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) Bureau of Immunization (BOI) Citywide Immunization Registry (CIR) is a central record-keeping system established by DOHMH to track the immunization status of individual children and adults, monitor immunization levels in the population in a timely manner, and implement publicly purchased vaccine ordering, management, and accountability. The CIR is accessible to licensed health care providers, parents and agencies authorized by the DOHMH for the retrieval of immunization records for the purpose of ensuring that children and adults receive all required immunizations and are, thereby, protected from vaccine-preventable diseases.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Training & Education Coordinator is responsible for instructing providers on the use of the CIR Online Registry for the COVID-19 Vaccine Program including completion and electronic signing of the Vaccine Provider Agreement, ordering vaccine, managing vaccine inventory, and reporting doses administered to the CIR.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create virtual training materials for providers related to use of CIR tools and functions for the Covid-19 vaccine program.
  • Coordinate and deliver webinars focusing on the Covid-19 Vaccine Provider Agreement as well as vaccine ordering, inventory management and accountability, and reporting doses administered to the CIR.
  • Conduct Covid-19 vaccine program provider recruitment and enrollment activities.
  • Perform outreach to providers to resolve problems with ordering vaccine, managing vaccine inventory, and reporting doses administered to the CIR.
  • Create and run database queries to generate information on Covid-19 vaccine ordering and CIR reporting.
  • Conduct data analysis using CIR data.
  • Perform other duties, as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree required; MPH preferred
  • Ability to explain complex information at an appropriate level for individuals and groups
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Experience with SPSS, SQL or SAS
  • Strong organizational and communication skills

There is a potential for this position to transition to DOHMH and therefore candidates must meet DOHMH eligibility requirements, including NYC residency.

POSITION: Research Coordinator

ORGANIZATION: NYU Grossman School of Medicine

Background:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Research Coordinator with a strong commitment to health disparities and community-engagement. The Coordinator will work on a grant funded by the National Institutes of Health focused on COVID-19 testing among New York City Housing Residents as part of the NIH Rapid Acceleration of Diagnostic Testing (RADx)-UP initiatives. The grant is co-led by Drs. Lorna Thorpe of the Department of Population Health, Division of Epidemiology, Natasha Williams, Division of Health and Behavior and Donna Shelley of the NYU School of Global Public Health.

The Research Coordinator will work closely with the lead investigators to conduct a community-based trial that will investigate the effectiveness of strategies for increasing access to COVID-19 testing among underserved populations. The Coordinator will establish the necessary infrastructure, processes, and policies to ensure the successful implementation and completion of the project. The successful candidate will have a high degree of professional maturity, commitment to excellence, independence, flexibility, and initiative, and will possess the ability to work collaboratively with diverse individuals, teams, and populations both internally and externally.

Principal Duties and responsibilities

  • Coordinate weekly research team meetings, assemble, and distribute meeting agendas and materials, and take and distribute meeting notes.
    • Collaborate with the study team to develop a project management system in concert with key partners and oversee trial progress.
  • Prepare materials, submissions, and renewals to the Institutional Review Board (IRB)
  • Manage, conduct, and track study participant recruitment and retention efforts
  • Collaborate with PIs on the development of interview protocols, survey instruments and data collection procedures.
  • Assist with database design, data management and data quality monitoring
    • Coordinate communication and data exchange with the National Data Coordinating Center.
    • Participate in the development of publications and conference presentations, including conducting literature reviews and creating tables and other data visualizations.
  • Prepare standard progress reports for research sponsor.
  • Oversee planning of additional study activities as assigned.
  • Liaison with community partners, and study investigators.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in public health, sociology, psychology, health care administration, social work or closely-related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of research experience required.
  • Experience implementing clinical trials, including IRB submissions and updates.
  • Attention to detail is critical.
  • Proficiency in using various Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Familiar with Internet applications.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, and strong analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interface effectively with all levels of community stakeholders including municipal agency officials, community-based organizations, providers, and patients.
  • Ability to work within a team environment as well as independently.
  • Commitment to continuous learning as required by department administration.
  • Ability to make decisions independently.
  • Ability to manage time, multi task and prioritize work.
  • Ability to identify, analyze and solve problems; ability to work well under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Competency using research related software such as SPSS, NVivo, Endnote, and REDCap, is desirable.
