On January 27, 2020, Lauren Porsch, a PhD student on the Community Health and Health Policy track, successfully defended her dissertation, “Sexual and Reproductive Health Outcomes in Women by Dimensions of Sexual Orientation: An Examination of 2011-2017 National Survey of Family Growth Data.” Her committee was chaired by Dr. Christian Grov with Drs. Hongbin Zhang, Nicholas Grosskopf, and Margaret Paschen-Wolff serving as committee members.
“My dissertation research provided me the opportunity to work closely with several of the stellar faculty at CUNY SPH as committee members,” Dr. Porsch says. “The process enabled me to hone my research skills in a supportive environment while working on a topic that is underrepresented in the literature.”
Upon graduation, Porsch plans to continue working in the field of sexual and reproductive health research and hopes to contribute to the further inclusion of sexual minority populations in survey research.
