He leads the occupational health unit at Poincar√© Teaching hospital (Paris Hospital, Garches site, AP-HP) and is a Professor at the Versailles and St Quentin University (UVSQ). Dr. Descatha‚Äôs primary areasof interest involve the epidemiology of musculoskeletal disorders. He alsoconducts research on emergencies in occupational settings and works in a pre-hospital intensive care unit (SAMU92). He is chairman of the scientific committee of Emergency Preparedness and Response for ICOH (the International Commission on Occupational Health). His areas of expertise and topicsof discussion include: ‚Ä¢ Asbestos disorders prevention ‚Ä¢ Work Organization and Psychosocial Factors ‚Ä¢ Construction sector and occupational health ‚Ä¢ Training Occupational practitioners ‚Ä¢ Emergency preparedness and response While visiting the CUNY School of Public Health he will be holding individual meetings, faculty workshops and a school wide presentation in collaboration with the Center for Systems and Design Thinking and the Institute for Implementation Science in Population Health.
