This event is open to CUNY SPH students, faculty, and staff.
As a follow up to the Chancellor’s Anti-Hate Initiative implemented in Spring 2024, an Anti-Hate Reading Resource Program was launched at the end of spring 2024, and as a summer reading project, many of you received the e-book link to Opposite of Hate: A Field Guide to Repairing Our Humanity by Sally Kohn. We are hosting a hyflex book discussion as an opportunity to share your thoughts and learnings from the book. The discussion will be moderated by CUNY SPH librarian Rosemary Farrell.
All students, faculty and staff are welcome to attend this discussion in-person or on zoom. Please register to join. Refreshments will be served.
To engage with your colleagues and friends and share your learning and reading experience fully, we hope you have completed reading the e-book or will do so soon. You may borrow the book from the New York Public Library. You may also acquaint yourself with the book by listening to the 92nd Street Y recording (Sally Kohn discussing the book with Joy Reid) or listening to Sally Kohn’s TED talks.
We look forward to having you with us as we continue to enhance our skills in bringing equity and inclusion to our campus community.
Thank you,
Arthur McHugh, Jr., Director, Human Resources
Lynn Roberts, Associate Dean for Student Affairs and Alumni Affairs
Sahana Gupta, Executive Chief Diversity Officer
