CDR Anna Khan MA, REHS, RS is the Associate Director for Communication (ADC) in CDC’s Division of Environmental Health Science and Practice (DEHSP). She is responsible for coordinating, collaborating, and managing all internal and external division communication activities in accordance with CDC priorities.
She is also responsible for managing the division’s Crisis and Emergency Risk Communication (CERC) strategy development and ensuring the communication strategy incorporates the division’s priorities and objectives. She has served as a subject matter expert and a senior leader on public health responses including Ebola, Zika, Cholera, Unaccompanied Minors, COVID, and the DoD Anthrax Investigation.
Prior to assuming the position as ADC at DEHSP, she worked in Global Emergency Management at CDC in the Division of Emergency Operations. She managed a dynamic program with multiple stakeholders and partners that required clear, concise, actionable, and timely communication. This involved communication with the Ministries of Health, Department of Defense, World Health Organization, and internally with CDC partners.
