Dr. George is an economist and behavioral scientist by training and specializes in health systems research. Dr. George has undertaken work on a number of projects in the field of health systems strengthening, focusing on HIV and AIDS, including on economic, psychosocial and behavioral issues. He has collaborated with UN agencies (UNAIDS, UNICEF, ILO, World Bank), Governments (South African, European Union, Swaziland, Botswana and the U.S), funders (Swedish SIDA, IrishAID, RNE, DfID, GFATM) as well as big business (SABCOHA, De Beers, AngloAmerican, SAB, Goldfields, Eskom). He has also collaborated with faculty at CUNY SPH and Columbia University in New York City on a number of studies.
