The Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics presents the Epi-Bios Forum on the first Wednesday of every month. The Forum features a presentation by an invited speaker, followed by a short presentation of research by an SPH student who is collaborating with a faculty member.

Cohort studies as a source of public health information during the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic: The CHASING COVID Cohort Study.
This talk will cover ways in which prospective cohort studies complement passive and active surveillance in providing public health information during the pandemic. Specifically, the talk will cover how cohort data are being used to provide insights around the recent omicron surge and the epidemiology of long COVID.

Dr. Nash is a Distinguished Professor of Epidemiology and Executive Director of CUNY’s Institute for Implementation Science in Population Health (http://cunyisph.org). He has over 20 years of experience in infectious disease epidemiology, and his research consistently generates new knowledge with clear programmatic and policy implications.
