The CUNY Graduate School of Public Health and Health Policy held its Recognition Ceremony on Tuesday, May 24th, 2016. Families, friends and faculty gathered to honor and celebrate the class of 2016 at the Gerald Lynch Theater. Dr. George C. Benjamin, Executive Director of the American Public Health Association (APHA) delivered the keynote speech and shared his inspirational public health journey. Dean Ayman Al-Mohandes led the graduates as they took their Public Health Pledge:

“I pledge to do all within my power to safeguard human and environmental health through prevention, protection, promotion, and educational efforts. I will accept the responsibility to use my talents, training, and professional experience to instill public trust in all my public health endeavors. It is my personal commitment to serve my community with integrity and pride.”

Dean Ayman Al-Mohandes closed the ceremony with an Egyptian proverb, “Good health is a crown worn by the healthy that only the ill can see. As public health professionals it is our pledge to protect the crown of health within our local and global communities.”

Congratulations to the Class of 2016!
