CUNY SPH is pleased to welcome Elizabeth Che to the Office of Academic Affairs as assessment coordinator.
Elizabeth received training as an educational psychologist and is focused on improving teaching and student learning outcomes in higher education. Her research domains broadly include language development, emotional intelligence, pedagogy, and civic online reasoning. She has a particular interest in how instructional practices can better equip students with critical thinking and workforce-relevant skills.
She earned her PhD in educational psychology, specializing in learning, development, and instruction, from the CUNY Graduate Center. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Macaulay Honors College at the College of Staten Island.
She previously served as the introductory psychology coordinator at the CUNY College of Staten Island, where she supported course coordination, curriculum development, and assessment. She has taught undergraduate courses in introductory psychology, research methods, and statistics as an adjunct assistant professor at the College of Staten Island, as well as graduate-level statistics courses at Fordham University.
Her combined experiences in research, program coordination, and teaching reflects a strong commitment to evidence-based assessment, effective pedagogy, and advancing student success in diverse educational settings.
